cheers for the support, and i would like to add the sight of a welsh crowd in full voice singing is something that strenghtens the bold with nz, really brings pride to both teams playing that will always be there.
  2. they work mate any movement in a decoy spread will get them in with some average calling.
  3. :11: wouldn't be a lurcher test, more like a tick to that moose.

and as a goodwill gesture we broke with maori protical and allowed this to happen on the 100th aniversary of that great event, the haka is not up for any country to fit into there agenda it is part of all black rugby and will not be moved around willy nilly, i'm proud we stood firm on this matter and it's a shame rugby fans couldn't get to see this in wales, a place special to all kiwi rugby fans. it is the same haka performed by our boys that left our shores during both world wars and on battlefields all over the world, new zealand maori had one of the highest causality rates of any country,
  5. top work ian, good to see ya getting the flash wagon out and bloody too.

it's our culture to perform the haka before major events, giving respect to both the opposition and to our selves, we made the mistake of changing the haka last time we played wales out of respect to a hundred years of welsh/all black rugby, it was a special event as wales carries alot of mana, pride, to the all blacks, wales being the only team to beat us in some tour, the officals promised it was only going to be a one off but wanted to change it last nite again, performing the haka off the field was insulting to us as new zealanders and i think politics should never get in the way of culture

blowing big raspberries to the welsh officials that wanted to change the tradition of the haka performance, first time in over a hundred years of all black rugby that we had to perform the haka in the changing rooms where's the respect !!!!!!! yet another win for the men in black though
  8. get ya self a roboduck decoy and a good duck call and learn how to use it.
  9. there are more pigs than people in nz, and 40 sheep per person as well lol.
  10. if ya only wanna kill the fox this calibre will do it no worries mate, it's used on moose so a little fox is history
  11. yes there is a world of difference between aussie and kiwi hunters, aussie would have the higher number of pigs simply because it is so bloody big :11: we hunt different terrain and use different methods and dogs also our pigs differ in alot of ways, most of our pigs are sub tropical rainforest/ mountain type and can be totally different than tussock bred, which live in alpine conditions and resemble the true wild boar more. the aussie's have a few strains of there own, partly due to the fact they have both feral european and feral asian pigs that have adapted to living in australia's vast cl
  12. nice boar ian and nice way of asking people not to poach ya land, here's the result of few hundred years of ferel pigs in nz, as ya can see they are pretty close to [bANNED TEXT] ya have running round your place, not my pic, was taken down south
  13. that the sires owner :11:
  14. they gonna take off now mate. my bitch was mated last nite so hopefull i'll be in the same boat after xmas. here's the sire.
  15. no haven't got many pic's, will start takening the cam out a bit more, i usally take it out pighunting but the gwp's usally stay at home when pork is on the menu, will get some of them on rabbits as i'm doing a bit of that at the moment in between deer.
  16. flushing is great so long as there was a point beforehand :11: it's all about teaching a dog whats game and wots vermin, vermin is to be killed, game is to be pointed simple pigs are just a bonus that they enjoy.
  17. first up don't put the gwp and gsp in the same sentence, i don't like the shorthair they are tottally different breeds, gwp's, dd's, have been breed to kill verman, fox, lnyx, wild cats it's part of there breed standard and the in germany they must pass this test to be allowed to breed, i hunt them on fur and feather the same as any pointer and work them on deer the same as most deer stalkers, working in close. as both the viszla and the gwp's are pointers i would not be expecting them to be a flushing dog, get a lab or a springer for that. my dogs will hunt off a pig scent and cast out like a
  18. my experience with the breed L/L, i got one after i lost my first gwp bitch was they are not that soft, compared to a gwp they are but ya learn alot by there hunting style and close working style. my old viszla hunted everything my gwp did and i would have another one anytime, mace was sold to a professional trapper and was shot and killed by mistake while he was holding a 140lb boar, hardly a soft dog on game but he was around people and needed the right kind of handler to bring out his finer points, they are not labs and take a gentle hand to train. he also feel out of a boat when a pup and
  19. well that sort of quote just has me scratching my head mate, are you playing dumb or just having a go at garypco seems you know alot more about looking for and buying a good gundog pup. bit hard to take a guy seriously after all that explaining to show his cards like that.
  20. looking great mate, little fatties. how much food is the bitch putting away? she looks good .
  21. they are in the nz bush, bit like a keg of beer to a dying man in the desert to a rat, they take alot of eggs off native birds and every one killed is a bonus. ya didn't tell them how the morepork got it's name coote.
  22. sounds like a similar story to nz, goldens have been out of the hunting field for many many years, we still have plenty of curly coats still working the gsp has been bred to hell here and pups can be bought for a few hundred bucks, but they are terrible in terms of temp and trainabilty, crossing them is riff, lucky my gwp has settled to a very stable position, however the show breeders still pose a problem as they can see the dollar signs to finace there other choice of breeds, strange how show breeders usally have two types of dogs, one that has a steady demand for pups
  23. not really sure how the price of the different breeds come about but i would say supply and demand plays a part, naturally as a new breed gets more popular there is a price high then a price drop as everyone trys to cash in, then they settle at a level where the supply is in check with demand, this is where the vizsla is now in both the uk and nz. 650 is not too dear and is firmly set for a new comer to get a good quailty pup from a breeder that has spent time and money improving the mess which usally follows a breeds boom time, fresh new blood in the form of semen, new stud dogs or bitches can
  24. strange how a boarder terriers average price in the uk works out to be the same price here in nz, 400 pounds is $1200 our money and seems to be [bANNED TEXT] they go for here:hmm: vislas and gwp's go for about $800 so that would put those vislas at over $2000 i don't really worry about the cost of my dogs they all get out hunting and i have no problem using them on pigs as well, don't even bother with cut collars if they get killed{unlikey as they are very smart} so be it they are doing [bANNED TEXT] they are bred to do.
  25. :11: i think he will never get it mate. he's living proof why cousins shouldn't marry.
