    Other Hobbies

when not hunting i'm fishing or riding my yammy r1, like the odd horse trek and rugby is a big part of my life too, kids and family slot in there too, and i like buying houses lol, pays for the toys.
  2. why not use the 22.250 for deer we tip over about thirty fallow a year with 223 and 22.250 no problem at all, i take it you are shooting roe?
  3. glad ya got a solid stand there aaron, if ya govt decides to pull the plug on you guys you can be assured us kiwi's will back you fella's all the way.
  4. oz and nz are two entirely different countries simon, like canada and the states, some pighunters in oz get pulled over and checked by the cops now so a simple ban and crackdown on hunters would be swift and the aussie cops, who are armed i might add don't f**k around, sure the dogging will still go on but they would be in the same boat as you poor bugga's. the hunting of sambur deer with hounds has been through the same shit and now it has new laws and rules bought in by the state govt, the writing is on the wall for our mates over the tasman sea, they need to get organized and tidy the image
  5. ever heard about the bali bombing mate- they have howard which is just as bad-plenty of asians that are even worse drivers-and as for the hunting ban, aussie follows mother england like a lamb look at the honest aussie gun owners that had there guns rounded up and destroyed, the bloodsports in oz are in the spotlite, duckshooting has been banned in alot of states and the greenies/spca have long had pighunting in it's sights, i think in a few years dogging anything in oz could be illegal, alot of us kiwi's are leaning on the fence watching our aussie cobbers get shafted, i understand even ferre
  6. nz is way cheaper to buy a house in, most poms are mortage free when they arrive after the exchange rate, cars and utes are cheaper and the hunting is sooooooooooooooo much better mate, no snakes or spiders to worry about and don't even get me started on the fishing
  7. sorry no malice here, my advice is do it simon pity the wages for health workers are so bad here, as nz could have been an option, hate for you and your family to think in the years to come, shoulda-coulda-woulda if you stay in the uk.
  8. yeah having that 2 year work permit for kiwi's is a great way to teach the young guys how great new zealand really is, most go over to drink piss and have a good time, the smart ones save there money and set them selves up for life when they return, i guess living in a place like coronation street after being born n breed in godzone would make you homesick, but on the plus side at least they return home, same can't be said for alot of poms they die over here still whingeing and homesick for a country that sounds like no longer exists.
  9. you all paint a sad picture of your homeland then tell me why when you poms move to another country you suddenly get all patriotic again , the pictures i have seen of the uk have been very stunning and i can see why they made nz to look like england. i travel to aussie about three times a year and enjoy the warmer weather etc but reckon the place is getting worse, the place is filling up with asians faster than they can unload the boats, gun ownership is hard and the hunting is not really that easy to get, and the places you can find seem to be 8 hrs drive away. there are good area's in oz
  10. have alot of family ponds and plenty of other ponds to shoot, never short of a place to shoot something.
  11. had a bit of a walk yesterday to check over some of our duck ponds and do a count on the paradise ducks dogs enjoyed the swim and a good sniff round and they caught a few flappers sika on point it's there dad!!!!!!!! the flush but missed the bird shot as the camera went beep

    some pics

had her guts ripped open on a boar, spilled out and got caught up in the bushes boar bolted she stopped it again but was dragging her intestines at the same time, she never gave up.
  14. keeping two bitches, she poped out another one last nite sso ended up with 9
  15. my pups have arrived 4 boys and 4 girls, mum doing well, good mum was able to be with her for the whole birth thingy, will post pics up later
  16. plenty of working curly coats still in nz, bit more agro and bigger than a lab, very good water dogs.
  17. to all you guys that have had enough jump on a plane and come to nz, we are heading down the same path, your comments are the same as [bANNED TEXT] is common knowledge here, on the bigger picture with an ageing population low unemployment and the high cost of raising children the only way to sustain the balance is to import asians, in my experience the world is changing for the worse, we don't need the problems that come with these new cultures in any christain country. i am not rascist am of both maori and pakeha blood myself but the day i see an asian run on the feild in an all black jersey
  18. quote name='bondy' date='Jan 12 2007, 03:24 PM' post='174329'] ANY BODY KNOW IF THAT CAN,T BELIEVE ITS NOT BUTTER .IS ANY GOOD FOR YE OR IS IT JUST LIKE MARGE. CHEERS BONDY if it's the new zealand made stuff it's just double churned butter, semi soft, or could be amex produced butter, not as good as fritz butter, read the back of the packet to see wots in it.
  19. thats alot of dogs to be using on a boar mate, on smaller pigs they would make short work of it, but it would be a bloody mess and hardly sporting, if you are expect dogs to just kill pigs you are wasting your time the only way a dog can kill a med- large sixe pig is to chew through the back of the neck or chew the snot off or through the nasal passage, both ways involve alot of pain as it's not over in seconds, expecting any type of dogs to maul a pig to death is to be avoided.
  20. ahhhhhhhhh right ya wanna see if anything will grow on it. it will as the main base should be amf, anhydrous milk fat or melted butter with 99.9 percent of the water removed,{clarified butter,or ghee for our curry muncher mates} as for the plastic element, get a litre of milk, full cream, add some vinegar, about 250mls put in a jar and watch the results the resulting curd when seperated through some mutton clouth will give you the raw casien which when baked turns into a form of plastic, buttons and pool balls are made of it. it is also used for food products like crab and fish sticks after
  21. tikka t3's are av in southpaw now, ruger only do a long action lefty, browning, sako, savage all do leftys too.
  22. ditchy both samples need to be kept at a steady temp to get accurate resultss and out of any day light, as i don't know the quaility of both your marge and butter i can't do anything other than watch from the other side of the world, butter will soon go rancid if left out in the sun and marge will of course change as the oil content changes with temp.....molly some spreadable butter is usallay softened with canola oil, semi soft is butter than has been churned twice and refrigderated so just plain butter, looking at some cooking programmes from the u.k i am shocked at [bANNED TEXT] sort of but
  23. not sure on your room temp, but spreadable butter or semi soft can be kept in your pantry without chilling, if your house is quite warm put it in the fridge, do you guys have butter conditioners in your fridges??????? a quick note on ditches wee test, due to the high fat and oil content of marge it will harded but i wouldn't expect any change, apart from smell for a few weeks or months if the room temp is stable. milkfat is a natural preserveative with a shelf life of a few years, glad your buying anchor butter by the way
  24. no difference between the dogs i think, maybe the english dog owners are a bit more sensitive you poms have the best bird dogs in the world don't get me wrong but i like my pups out sooner rather than later, my dogs are multi task so need to experience a few extra things in life. all pups are different and should be allowed to be pups but eight months is a long time to be doing nothing. yes we do get gunshyness.
