  1. When you say the browning is battered, what is actually wrong? bit of pitting on the barrels, 2 heavy marks on the stock and a few small marks, i dont think the marks would iron out ether. the guns action is still tight, and theres no play, its my mates gun and i know hes had no problems with it, hes just used it well. cheers Is the pitting on the inside or outside of the barrels? If i were you i wouldnt buy a gun that is pitted inside, as once it starts you cant really stop it and the barrels become very sensitive to rust and the pitting will spread, i dont think the older brownings

  3. thanks ss06. the reason i was thinking the 687 is because it was in better condition than the browning but the browning comes with a few standard chokes and extended chokes. so am thinking value for money the browning looks good as S/H ones seem to hold there price. cheers

    Moulting?

some people put there birds down to moult different times but mainly as the weather gets warmer extra sun light and spring is in the air most animals starts to breed and this will trigger the birds to moult, as in the wild there are plenty of young around, for them to feed on, so a bird of prey can lose a few matching feathers and still catch some easy prey, but captive birds of prey are fed on plenty of quailty food . and at this time of year and they are mainly kept at a fat weight so this also triggers the moult to.. some display falconers moult there birds in winter with heat lamp
