    I have often not agreed with some of the things ye have said in the passed Speedie, but this statement above you made, i agree with and its true, the irish hare, is nothing like the scottish mountain hare, its far more stronger and bigger. Its a breed on its own. Also, the irish hare, can cross breed with the brown hare, as its mainly happening in the north of Ireland. The Irish hare, is very closely related to the brown. Im fairly certain they cant breed ,i think they are the same as the hares in scotland,im also fairly sure that coursing hares in ireland is illegal excep

    tHats a bitch use its brain cutting off the hare and getting the in the place it wants it for a strike.To say that dog could not do that in lreland is wrong. Yes fast types would put more pressure on that hare or others but if they dont kill it then soon find themselves getting straight lined and the owner having to wait 20 ,30 mins before the dog can run again. l like a fast up and at them but the have to stay on if needs be. This grews or whippets crosses must be limited to a distance where you can slip from????

    Hares are not as easy as 3 turns dead.Prop start off season or if your slipping straight out bed.If dog cant catch in in 15 ,20 turns the dogs no good????Why can you not get a good hare????It not always about the dog. As speedie said you need a fast dog that can run slow. Once a hare is broke it comes down to the dog keeping the hare away from its escape root and the hare trying to get the dog away from its escape root. The dog trying to time the next turn and the hare trying to time when the next strike is coming from,You can get good courses in Ireland. How many you run after the course?
