  3. hi mate Like Chartpolski said it used to be great years ago for coalies,im not sure if its anygood for mackeral or not but Beadnel is about 2 miles away and theres a few spots down there just ask in tackle shops and they will tell you tight lines scotty

JUST CAME BACK FORM MY FISHING TRIP TO THE MULL OF GALLOWAY, Had a great time even though the fishing wasnt to good, i caught 4 pollock which were all keepers on float and sandeal the biggest about 4lb,not a single mackeral ,and way to many dog fish to mention ..i think the weather had a mojor factor it was blowing a hooley which made the east side of the point quite unfishable so i bimbled over to the west down some very scary cliffs for the pollock, after setting myself up and casting in some rag and my float set up i noticed a seal swimming in the area which was nice to sea but i didnt
  7. i was going to use mackeral for pollock bait and some eals, do you think i should take some rag worm with me aswell to be one the safe side? scotty

  9. hello mate get yourself down to blyth pier with a spinning rod and som spinners/feathers etc and you will land some mackeral,great sport,ive just came home an hour ago and i caught over thirty,, scotty
  10. went their tonight and caught over 30 mackeral and kept ten some were over 1 1/2 pound and 1 or 2 nearer 2lb,going back in the morning with the camera. scotty

Its not just about hydration,i personally use it on a regular basis im no expert but it works for me especially in the summer months, electrolyte puts back into the body what hard work takes out like salts etc,but a healthy diet should replace most stuff lost, ive never used it on dogs but i may do so in the future, so if anyone uses it with their dogs i would like some advice on dosage etc cheers scotty
  13. yeah mate i know what you mean..ive got a dark brindle dog and a light brindle dog and the dark one suffers more than the light,even touching their coat you can feel a difference in temperature,my mates beddy cross is a light fawn colour and you can feel a major diffference..lots of water and shade where possible mate,and you do know that darker colours soak up more heat,,! happy hunting scotty
  14. im going to have a go at mackeral and pollock, ive got spinners and eals (fresh and fake) so i will see how it goes its a three hour drive to where im going so i dont want to forget anything.. things like ,,knife,towel,flask,obviously a tackle list would be good..its been a long time cheers scotty
  15. just bought some sidewinder eals they are supposed to be the nuts for pollock not the cheapest at £5 for three..going to the mull on thursday for a go at the mackeral,,cant wait ,wont be getting there till 1oclock or so,will have to check the tide tables and take a chance scotty its a three hour drive for me so its a long day if nothing is caught lol..
  16. hi peeps this may sound like a silly request but could you put up a list of eqpt that you take with you shore fishing im going to drummore next week and havnt been fishing for a good while , so im looking for a bit of a list and some advice on what to take..apart from food and beer cheers scotty

  18. im having exactly the same problem mate,,all was going well and then nothing,i layed off for a while and still the same,,but when i got a rabbit with the older dog my pup carried it next to me for the walk back to the car,,so there is hope mate just keep chipping away and eventually it will come good luck scotty
