u could bring a f*****g poodle lamping as long as it does the job -
best thing 2 do for summer pike is troll if u hav a boat..we caught 75 pike on a big lough in cavan..last july with 2 16ft fibreglass boats..all catch and release mostly under 10pounds..got burnt 2 fcuk aswell

start of with someone whos been fishing for pike for years..and learn from him..takes time mate..get yourself a pair of fox long nose wire cutters,,for deep hooked pike only a tenner..ive saved some big pike with them..goodluck
