    All game was taken legally! The whippets worked as draw dogs with the terriers for the rockchuck and nutria after digging. They catch rabbits both from a slip and freecasted. Anyone else have pictures of the whippets working unusual quarry(for a whippet)? Please feel free to post on this thread. I sure would like to see some nice working whippets! They are fun little dogs!

    Why not slip only two dogs in these compsIt will be easier to judge and a better more sporting course altogether. I totally agree.

    Arcticgun, you are right. When the whippets were done running the rabbit, you could see how tired and out of breath they were from the course. When the salukis got done running a rabbit, they were not near as beat as the whippets, ready to run again and again. Yesterday was my first time seeing a Saluki in person, and I was blown away by how far these dogs could run and not even look tired.

    Yes the dogs are slipped in 3s. The whippets are quite large, I wouldn't doubt there is a fair amount of greyhound in these ones. It was a damn fun and completely legal time for some good dog folk to get together and chase Mr. Long Ears with they're breed of choice.

    It was on desert scrub land, wide open sandy areas broken up by patches of brush, surrounded by farm land and orchards. That whippet Versace is a exceptional dog from what I've heard. The courses were not what I would call short, but I'm a novice. The whippet caught the hare way out of sight and returned it to hand.

    He's about 9months old now and 22.5'' tall at the shoulder.

    Went out lookin to chase some rabbit with my new whippet pup and bulldog this morning. Ended up finding something else! Healthy bobcat!

    WOW, those are some good looking dogs! Feel sorry for the pigs who think they can get away from those two!

    My 17lb terrier ran bear by herself multiple times... Black bear go up a tree as soon as they can.

    Thanks. She was coming along wonderful. Breaks my heart to lose her... We went looking for coon, she found a bear, and a big-cat found her.
