Most terrier prices to the general public are ridiculous!! I've seen JRT's for 300 quid + at times! A long legged JRT would be better for bushing than a short leg surely? My JRT mix dog comes from a plummer bitch and long leg russell dog, a fantastic nose and great stamina, works a beating line all day long, will bush for hours it's a good cross

Sorry, wasn't having a dig at your post. It drives me mad when people start their dogs hunting too early and expect them to magically start doing everything right straight away, it takes years of constant input to have an obedient consistant dog no matter what the breed. most of the time it's basic training thats been ignored in their haste to have a good dog. No dog should free hunt until it has been taught and reponds to recall and basic commands. Even then it should be in a controlled environment to ensure the dog knows whats expected of it. An older dog will help hugely but thats not

Why does everyone want a hard terrier for foxes....is it to compensate for something else thats lacking????? A smart dog is better than a hard dog anyday! Sounds like your mate who's been into terriers for years has been filling your head with shite! A good first terrier would be a nice rough haired russell, cheap to buy, easy to find and easy to train.

Exactly the problem here i would think! Shooting game over an 8 month old terrier i'm not surprised you are having problems!! It chases....you shoot and hey presto he has a new toy to rag....which no doubt he gets praise for??? Why on earth would it come back to you in that situation....it's allowed to free hunt and get rewards of shot game after a chase. That dog needs BASIC training for at least another 4-5 months to allow it to mature and learn to come back when it's told. My russel is 6 years old and he still has the odd chase where the deaf ears come back to him but 99% of the time

Do one of the college courses and you will find it easier to get a job in the industry -
No it dosn't! It is trespass and they can be taken to court for entering without a warrant or the owners permission They could also be attacked by a householder protecting their house from intruders...anyone for reasonable force They have now stopped it due to the risks involved If they did it to my house i would have no hesitation in bringing a civil prosecution against them for trespass, entering illegally etc and i would enjoy every second of it

Yep and being a soldier it's part of their job to be shot at, blown up, bombed, gassed, etc etc etc theres no whinging about that surely??? They volunteer to be in the armed forces!!! Yep they do a fantastic job but so do cabin crew, how would you get around the world in a few hours without them to look after things onboard?? If they are not happy with changes to their working T and C and job losses and are in the union then why shouldn't they strike. they are standing up for their rights. It's not like the armed forces can strike because someone shot at them

You need to do the above but DO NOT SEND YOUR TICKETS IN THE POST TO THEM! They will get them when they do they check.

Firstly theres plenty roadkill out there to feed ferrets, not much will happily eat a mole bar a maggot! cant say you will get many moles to feed hungry ferrets anyway. Secondly there is a search button at the top of the page, there are many posts just like yours asking the same stuff

Inside a wasps nest
ratattack replied to kill um with crisps's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
And fantastic fishing bait ... OTC Yep but only from nests that havn't been treated with insecticide, it's kinda nasty to things that live in the water -
Anyone?? This is a lovely looking piece

My old headkeepers wife had one, we kept it in a kennel in the yard. By christ didn't it stink though, even after the vet snipped the scent glands  Was a great lil vixen though. It absolutely loved the keepers wife and wasn't sure of other folk but would just sit and look at you.

Perfectly legal to release native species like foxes, they will probably be released on a sanctuary only to be shot once they cross the boundry with neighbouring land The arsepca can release grey squirrels as they can make the rules up as they go along

Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 The law permits: The mercy killing of a seriously injured bird if it is unlikely to recover. so reading this plonkers first post, he shot a bird in a tree with a broken wing, I'll repeat myself, is he a certified vet that can make a decision just by looking from afar, I doubt it, and I doubt that excuse could be used in a court of law, fine if you find a wounded animal by the roadside after being hit by a car, but "in a tree" shit, every hunter out there would be using that excuse to shoot anything that moves At no point did i condone what

seen my first of the year the other day in gloucestershire, anyone else spotted any? Summer won't be far away now lol

Oh really maybe we should take all the rabbits in our snares and all the other animals to the rspca so they can uuthanise them, rather than us shoot them, f**k yer rspca. see, people opening their mouths, before getting their brain in gear he shot a protected species a blackbird is also a protected species, a rabbit however is classed as a pest a quailified person, can put to sleep and injured animal/bird, that otherwise may not survive in the wild a non quailified person, cannot take on that responsability I think you will find if an animal or bird, whether protected or

Releasing Duck
ratattack replied to lilvixen's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
Food spread into the water will keep them close too as they have to dabble which takes up time. They will wander if left without food for any length of time, we fed some in morning and some in late afternoon. -
You could but won't catch many, they should be set on runs as the rabbits are moving faster on the runs. They are more cautious when going in/out holes or through fences unless being chased etc.
-
Get some lion/tiger etc shit from a wildlife park put this along the boundrys and they won't come near it apparently. It's replacing one shit with another but if it works then why not
-
as above really. needs to be near oakhurst in swindon and preferably know working animals. I have found a vet but i don't know if they have any experience outside of the fat pet world. My last vet was very good but is now a long way off since i moved
