  1. Rubberised paint is what you'll need, washes easily.
  2. A matchbox full of fleas or better still if you know a friendly pesty then some bedbugs instead through the letterbox. Much more fun and suffering for the miserable cow. My neighbour is whinging the terrier is barking sometimes during the day. If he carries on then the bedbug treatment will be happening to them!
  3. Looks empty to me in those photo's. Look again tomorrow and you will see if it's being used. NO you cannot gas them in their hole!
  4. No worries, happy to help. Best of luck getting a job, it's a good job.
  5. Cheers trappa Oxo look here, it may be better to get a job in a major company doing something slightly different and sidestepping into a techs job as one arrises. Give andy lowicki at MITIE a shout i work for them and have just been put through and passed my BPCA accredited technician course which would have cost a fortune on my own! http://www.pestcontrolportal.com/classified/viewads.asp?catID=6
  6. You will need a lot of luck to get started and keep the wolf from the door with no experience! training courses will only ever give you the theory of the job, i've been doing it for over 3 years now and had my first bedbug job last week i still had to stop and think how to go about it. it's an easy industry to start up in but a pig to keep the money coming in if self employed. If you are planning to do it with no other work to pay bills etc then forget it! How many other self employed pesties are there in the local yellow pages all competing for the same work??? There is a living to be made bu
  7. Are you mad! He was prepared to shoot police as he stated, he tried to enter a police station to shoot unarmed officers inside, he shot and killed an innocent civilian, injured another plus an innocent police officer and you still question whether the police acted unreasonably! How would you handle it if you were an officer knowing how he felt towards the police they should have shot the c**t on sight and be done with it! As far as sensible people are concerned he is dead and no longer going to be a burden on society in jail for the next 20 years with morons feeling sorry for him saying how
  8. White pheasants are just that...a white pheasant. usually released to be a novelty for the guns with a fine on his head if it gets shot. They were also used years ago to alert a keeper to poachers taking birds at night off the roost.
  9. Yep seen a couple in sutherland a few years back. Big feckers!
  10. You would hear a bullet or fragment pinging away, classic noise. A .22 rimmer would be a more likely candidate, anyone else shoot the land? The neighbour must be up watching you to hear the bullets /see you shooting.
  11. Depends how clean an edge you want, one of those hand held crossed steels would do. We have one at home that would fit in a pocket.
  12. Birds fed from hoppers stuff themselves then bugger off for a wander usually, hand fed over a straw ride will mean the birds have to scrat around for food keeping them occupied longer and less prone to stray as far. But that said pheasants are a law unto themselves at times
  13. Theres plenty adults who know naff all about wildlife! I come across people weekly who don't know the difference between a bumblebee and a wasp for example! Mice are rats etc etc So i'm not surprised kids know nothing about the world away from the tv!
  14. All my hooks are barbless and never have a problem with them, tight line and rod up and there will be no problem. Any slack and the hook can slip straight out. just takes practice
  15. Looks like a cockchafer to me too they can grow big but they will be a lot of different sizes i've found. The one i have at home is well over an inch long!
  16. treat the dog with a different active ingredient not product regularly, treat the bedding for fleas and where it lives/spends most of it's time or you might as well not bother treating it at all. Most flea products don't work because people don't apply them correctly or not enough is used because it's too expensive Nothing should be too expensive when it comes to the wellbeing of your animal.
  17. The official scheme ended ages ago lol A lot of garages have set up similar schemes so you may still get a deal on a new motor
  18. Well! I shoot a .270 and it is a lightening rod, with 150gr bullets it will floor instantly anything that walks the UK. yes Red stags too. I can only assume you must have endured a 'crappy' Parker Hale 'Nail' rifle with factory ammo and a 'tractor' trigger. I have a .270 Browning A bolt Medalion, with a Leupold LPS scope and a Wildcat moderator, not a gift to anyone, but with my handloads I can put 5 shots inside 2" at 200 yards (lasered) so if you wouldn't want that as a gift, I would like to try your gift? AndyF Thanks for the offer but i find them a savage round to shoot ( the
  19. Many people including me do not rate the .243 for reds/fallow and sika. Fine for hinds and smaller deer but no match for a stag or buck especially in the rut. Seen a lot run off when shot by guests. A lot of keepers in scotland where i used to live use 25-06 which is spot on for stags and foxes. I use a 25-06 and wouldn't change it. Smooth to shoot and a lot of bullet choice if you load your own ammo or know someone who can. 75 grain ballistic tip bullet for foxes and 100 grain balistic tip for big deer. Some will say .308 which can be loaded up or down depending what you choose to shoot with
  20. If those are your thoughts then do us all a favour and keep them as thoughts!! In a word.... NUMPTY!
  21. No-one is knocking him just pointing out it's not easy money in this business despite what most people think
  22. So he wants to bum around on a few farms flying his birds. Thats not pest control in the money making sense of it, as has been said if he is any good with his birds then he may get subbed work from the bigger companies in towns and rubbish tips. His idea is unlikely to make sufficient money to live on especially when dealing with "poor" farmers. He would be better off trying to find a job with a large company where he could fly the birds and see what he really thinks of pest control, theres not a lot of "good" fun things involved in day to day work
  23. Sad to see it's gone missing, but on another note i would NEVER give my dog's name on a missing poster. If someone has stolen it and they see the poster then they have it's name too. Hope it turns up soon.
