Bit dodgy shooting towards those buildings through the fence, i know theres a bank of muck there but whats to say you clip the fence wire or theres not something in the heap to cause a bullet to go pinging off into the sheds or house.

Probably the food or it's just moulting and the skin is itchy from that.

Exactly! Theres no way that that nest is one years worth of building by wasps. half a million wasps my arse!

I believe it was nearer a third rather than half of the dogs brought to them. They PTS because they had behaviour problems which could make them unsuitable to rehome. I certainly don't agree with it but if people wern't breeding dogs left right and centre then there wouldn't be so many going to the dog pound in the first place! People need to be more responsible when breeding but you try telling the local chav with an eye on some easy cash to be sensible.

ratattack replied to stiggy's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Jesus where the hell do you go walking, you going for a week....are you ray mears??? You appear to have forgotten the kitchen sink I have a stick and maybe a pocket knife to cut a good stick if i see one -
try part of a bounty or snickers bar instead, they can't move that easily

well we will have to disagree then. casting 3,4 or even 5ounce lures involves more force on the gear than trolling behind a boat, the strike may be more savage when trolling but thats about it. Heavy lures require heavy line to absorb the shock of casting, also should you get an overrun it will prevent a crack off. 3 trebles flying through the air unchecked makes a nasty missile for other water users. I've had to dodge a few crackoffs from people using line thats too light for the weights being used. Larger fish can be reeled to the bank with a less protracted fight ensuring a stronger

Quite simply because i use big jerk baits on that rod/reel for big fish, these require a strong line to prevent crack offs and enable the lure to be pulled out of snags Try reading up on jerkbait fishing before you start critising I've yet to find a snag i couldn't move with that braid and rod i use i have other rods for light line fishing, i love catching small or big fish on light line but you try fishing a big jerkbait on light gear, you just can't do it I have lures that cost 20 quid or more...bet if you lost a few of those you would soon see the appeal of strong gear. One of my bes

80lb braid and you won't lose em I fish that on my multiplier for lure fishing and have yet to lose a lure when using it! Pulled some huge 100lb plus tree stumps and enormous lost eel nets over in norfolk broads pikeing last year The hooks will bend straight rather than lose the lure

Check your spelling! Nothing looks worse than shit grammer and punctuation on a website. Plenty farmers dont have good grasp of written english but you should as you are trying to impress farmers/landowners. For example what is a pnematic air rifle? Or caperbilities Not a dig just an observation

Yep the guy is a bit of a knob, i went to college with some of the young guys who worked on blair atholl. A prize prick a lot of the time apparently. He knows his stuff though, was a good series.
-
Yep great lures, been around a bit now though easy to fish thats for sure and catch plenty pike
-
Personally in summer i would be using one of those perch or roach live on the pike rod, dead baiting in summer means watching the pike rod constantly and being ready to react to the slightest of twitches on the line. Not possible if you are busy with the smaller fish. One or the other for me in summer, or spinning for pike with lures or a dead bait.

Depends where you live -
For once the arsepca did their job, the knobhead who drowned it in plain view of other people deserves the fine, criminal record and the associated publicity for a cruel and inhumane despatch. Yep it's only a squizzer but it still deserves to be killed properly, ignorance is no defence in law. Hopefully the publicity will make other retards stop doing it and treat them humanely. Yet another reason the sale of livecatch traps should be restricted to those suitably trained and capable of completing a humane despatch of the trapped animal. Shoot it or bag and bash it both legal and sensible

game keeping experience

College would also be a good plan of attack, there are enough college courses out there in wildlife management. That said there are hundreds of guys wanting to be keepers on courses who will all be chasing the same jobs Get beating on local estates or find a gamefarm and start from there cos you won't get a course or underkeepers job at this time of year. -
how to prepare and cook eels
ratattack replied to bosco's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
As above or better still, gut and smoke em! That is feckin delicious and is very expensive swedish dish! MMMMMMMMMMMM try it you won't be dissapointed -
Great idea till it all goes wrong! I got swarmed 4 times last year by very aggressive wasps from large nests! No protective gear and i woulda been dead, same can happen to anyone trying it your way and ending up at best looking like john merrick or 6ft under! I've been to a dozen or more of these b&q bandits diy jobs lately and surprise surprise they got stung and still needed a pro to do the job right. If in doubt leave it alone!
-
Deffo a sturgeon! Its no spurdog or smoothhound, they are salt water fish, unless it's dead of course.

Get a pro in who will use some proper insecticide, ficam in not that good on fleas Kills the adults but won't interrupt their life cycle, an experienced pro will use some insecticide that will sort them out. Do not try and diy as you have already found out to your cost it won't work!
