  1. No mate i don't punt it but do know a fair bit about it and build a fair few units so know whats ok and whats great also can get hold of most of the above units. I would of thought starlight would of told you where to purchase a weaver or dovertail rail from for your .243 steyr classic after spending over £1500 with them Pardon? anyways, spoke to Julian yesterday at Starlight after i had visited my dealers to try and sort a scope height issue to no avail, Julian had some raised mounts and has said he will post them, i will tell you when they turn up, i like to deal with people who

  3. Good write up and glad your happy with your set up, what does get me is why people pay £1650 to £2500 for an Archer add-on when you can buy a Envis gen3 or a PVS-14 add-on for the same money which is far superior to the Archer. Also the Envis and PVS-14 will hold their price if you decide to sell, i have seen the Archer second hand go for around £750 which is a big loss.
  4. Review here http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/198650-laser-genetics-nd3x50-review/
  5. To be honest with you i don't muck about with gen 1 its just to hard to strip down as most of the components are bonded in, what i can say is be careful when playing as you can get a fair belt off them, the power supply to the tubes hold a good charge
  6. If it the MPN 40K try the battery connections on the unit, if not it could be the tubes or a dry solder inside the unit, if you have no warranty you may as well take it apart and have a play yourself as it would not be worth sending it for repair as you can buy them for around £160. Good luck and keep us updated
  7. Both the bino and mono are good, its down to each individuals choice and of course PRICE The rangefinder works the same way as it does on a day scope, i don't use it to much as i'm just building a gen2 add-on for this , i am a bit concerned with the rangefinders laser as this could do damage to my gen3 tube if used on a regular basis. I have no farms with game birds on within 5000 acres so no one shoots the foxes, i have a deal with the farmers and thats because a lot of public have chickens and geese in the area which get hammered but the fox helps the farmer by eating the rabbits (yeah ri
  8. Went out last night at 22.15pm with a lad called Micheal, he bought the ND3X50 two weeks ago and said he didn't like it so that was a good start he had a sako 223 with a Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50, i had my spotting scope on the roof which is remote controlled and you watch it on the screen inside the truck, this unit will spot a fox at around 300 to 500 yards away. After about 35 minutes i noticed a fox about 170 yards out so he got up into the shooting hatch, i started the fox call and the fox started to come in, he turned the ND3X50 on and shot the fox at around 120 yards,it was a young fox
  9. The lad is in surrey and its priced to sell, so all i can say is its a bargain so send him a PM or phone him quick as this will sell quick.
  10. A shooter close to me has offered to come on one of my shoots and give me a 1st hand look at the ND3X50. Now i can go out on my shoot and see Mr fox 5 out of 7 days a week so will see if the ND3X50 is as good as the reviews , the foxes on this shoot are lamp shy so this should be interesting.
  11. So has anyone shot anything using one of these as yet or pointed it at a fox and if so did it spook it, would not buy one myself but like to know how users are getting on with them, most reviews by actual shooter in the UK are negative so will be interesting to see how it goes.
  12. Here is the best price i have found for a 140 IR filter Ebay Item number: 320634175875 your way is the cheapest by a long way. As for the trouble your having with mounting the mono the easiest way is to put a weaver or dovetail rail upside down on the mono than get a scope mount, put the scope mount on your scope upside down to the normal way, than side the mono with the weaver or dovetail rail on to it, you may need to make a spacer up so the mono lines up with your day scope. When setting up the mono to the day scope just use the two without any dsa cage or rail, offer the mono up to the e
  13. are you using the digital 5 x 42 ( £280 ) or the pro ( £ 540 ) type.also cannot find lr1800 laser .will a n100 ap one be alright.thanks for your help. The yukon pro is the same but has a built in IR laser instead of an IR LED and cost much more so its cheaper to buy the yukon ranger and a seperate IR laser. Both the N800 and the N1000 are the same but the N1000 is the newer model
  14. Here is a few that are good on the Hmr and for lamping or an add-on night vision unit AGS swat 8-32x56 or the 4-16x56 Nikko Sterling Platinum Nighteater Falcon Menace 4.5-18x56 or 5.5-25x50 Don't like the MTC scopes
  15. Dai glad you are happy with the set up, the lightforce scope mount can be bought here http://www.philipmorris.uk.com/dept/Shooting-accessories/Hunting-Lamps-Accessories/Hunting-Lamp-Accessories/product/Deben-Lightforce-SRKIT-25-26-30mm-Scope-Mount
  16. Found this on another forum hope it helps
  17. Its quite obvious you set the NV unit and IR laser up wrong, the only reason for glare back is the laser beam is hitting the scope turrets or silencer or your to close to an item which will make the beam reflect back to the NV unit.
  18. So its like i said in post 2 you will not get a ir laser under £120 unless you find one second hand
  19. Does it come with an IR filter ? as he wants it for Aldi night vision monocular, i know the cree torch is good but with a IR filter on it you will lose around 30% of the range it normally go to
  20. Depends on which lamp you are using but if its a lightforce 170 this on ebay is the cheapest option Item number: 320634175875 as for a laser you will not get one to see 100yards for less than £120 here http://www.nvscopes.com/night%20vision%20laser%20illuminator%20N1000.html or put a add in the wanted section for a N1000 IR laser or for a IR filter for the lamp you are using
  21. I read a good write up on these scopes here http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread.php?446300-Burris-laserscope-review
  22. Most scopes with side parallax are good try to get one with NO more than 6-24x56 the lower the better like a 4-16x56,also some fixed scope are good but best to still have side parallax. I did put a post up with a list of scopes that are good with add-ons.
  23. Thanks for letting me know, you could of PM'd me
  24. Yes please as long as its the 170 lightforce sent you a PM, PM me how you want payment
