  3. Great pics what do you mean by great improvement?
  4. Why would someone put a post on like that, get loads of replies and then not respond to any of them??? simple, to wind people up! next thing will be him saying that the dog was 6 months old or something and then we'll have pages and pages of malc1 arguing with people about whether or not that's old enough to work.....oh aren't I negative!

  7. hows it goin scruff, what do ya lamp if ya dont mind me asking, i presume its shooting as ya looking for a lamping dog?? shooting?? I think he's looking for a dog to run rabbits with on the lamp.... read the post again mate, he says he is out most nights either workin or lampin already so im curious as to what he;s lampin if he has no dog for it.... oh yeah, good point. Didn't notice that.
  8. Yeah I know its only 1 dog, but its better than the usual whippet posts where they get slated by people who have never even owned one whippet!
  9. just out of interest, as a 3/4 whippet owner with a lot of experience of whippets, how does the 3/4 compare to the whippets in terms of pace/turning/strike etc. Are they no where near as good or do they get pretty close? Would you get another one after yours passes away or will you go back to whippets? just thinking you might be a good person to give a true opinion on how good the cross is compared to the pure whippet.

  11. Shows what I know, I didn't think they were in this country any more. Are they only in the Southwest then or are they countrywide?
  12. joined a month ago but not added a single post??

  13. Good god they are minging.....that is not right in my opninion there's no way that's 10 month old, it's a chiwawa pup, probably a few weeks old and some clown is putting it on youtube claiming to have "the worlds smallest dog". There's no way there's a full grown dog that's 3 and a half inches tall!
  14. good point, mine had a chicken bone lodged in its throat once and did the same.
  15. have a gander at this thread on the greyhound section - http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/183510-work-and-track/
  16. can someone put the link back up so I can have a watch?
  17. I have to say, it's good to hear a young lad learning from his mistakes and gaining good experience, makes a change from some of the cock tools you hear thinking they know it all or starting out by just buying a bull cross and going lamping for foxes straight away.
  18. they usually prefer raw eggs to boiled to be honest, try them with that. Don't give them too many eggs in a week either, I don't give mine any more than 2 or 3 a week between the two of them. I'd take the tennis ball out aswell if I were you just in case they chew bits of rubber off and swallow it. I wouldn't worry about hurting them too much, they're tough little critters, you'd have to be pretty rough with them or be doing it on purpose to hurt them.
  19. when sitting down lie them on their back on your legs, a bit of olive oil or cooking oil on the belly and you have two hands to clip their claws I hold mine as normal and then hold their front legs between your two middle fingers to clip their claws, it's easy to do as long as you're gripping their front legs with your fingers properly. Then do the back legs when they're eating an egg. Handling ferrets is definitely something that gets easier the longer you have them, nasty ferrets are tricky to handle but they usually get used to you within a week or two of handling them every day.
