Me and my mate used to take a skateboard on the leisure centre car park and we'd take it in turns, one stood on skateboard with two dogs pulling us along and the other would run along so they'd chase him....brilliant fun....until the cretin thought it'd be funny to run over a kerb across the grass, I tried to stop by putting one foot down before I got to the kerb but all it did was spin me round and send me rolling along the floor.
Definitely like the look of one of them dog scooters, bloody expensive though!!!!
that's a brilliant set up, love the pipes! Where did you get them from? I went round all the DIY shops looking for drainage pipes but none of them sell them, only the rigid plastic ones.
I've made part of my garden ferret proof so leave them running round the garden for a couple of hours a day. Also take them out with the dog a couple of times a week, I just go to a big open field so I can see if any other dogs are approaching and just let them run around in the long grass and dig a bit. As long as your ferrets are used to you they won't stray far and are easy enough to catch anyway.
I've found having more than one ferret helps keep them fit, even though mine are kept in the same hutch as soon as I let them out in the garden they go mental and start play fighting and jum
best advice yet, I started with 4oz nets and they are utterly useless, you spend ages untangling them every session. I then got 6oz, they are a million times better!
Ive just got a hunter ergo 2, not very accurate at all with it at the moment but just need to practice I think. Its just for rabbits, squirrels, crows, pigeons, magpie, nothing big. Sounds like marbles might be the way forward then?
A nice salad sandwich with a fruit salad for desert is much better for the ferrets, this raw chicken is completely unnatural for carnivors such as ferrets and is only going to lead to problems further down the line.
And that's fact, it must be cos I've just decided to write it.
What do you mean where's the rabbit, it's a monster!!!! I had to sit her away from it for the pic so she didn't accidently breath it in!
Cheers for the comments, it might be a titch but it's a start.
Anyone using a Hunter catapult? I got mine today, it's a Hunter ergo2. It's my first catapult (apart from fishing catapults), took it for a few shots today and I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong. Sometimes it goes as I want it to but sometimes it'll either hit the floor just in front of me or go flying up to one side. Anyone got any tips? or is it just a case of practice makes perfect?
I'm using 9.5mm stainless steel ball bearings, are they the right ones for the job?
Just took Tilly, my 10 month old pup out for the last time before leaving her at my parents for 2 weeks while we go away. Thought I'd make the most of the rain and give her a good run about with the ball aswell as finally the ground's softened up a bit. And also, my new Hunter catapult has just arrived in the post so fancied getting a bit of practice in.
Didn't see any rabbits for over an hour and non of the crows or pigeons were in range to have a pop at with my catty, she has a good run around though. Just before heading back to the car I decided to take her for a quick run through th
It depends how much the dog runs around when you're out. Sometimes my pup just spends the walk sniffing around and not really running full pelt much, in that case I don't have a problem staying out for a couple of hours. Sometimes she'll run about like a loon so I'll restrict it a bit.
the farmers used to introduce black rabbits onto their land and when they dissapear they now their land is being poached
erm, and how does that work then when there's god knows how many predators that also kill rabbits?
cheers pal, it's actually bigger than it looks on the pic. I've only got 2 ferrets but it's big enough for 4 I reckon. Not as big as Alg1980's though!! wish I had the room for something like that!
