  4. Not just women who hunt Moll.....women in general!! My mrs came with me ferreting once, she cried when I caught the first bunny so we cut that trip short and I go on my lonesome now. Plus she doesn't like insects etc. so it was never really going to work. Doesn't bother me though, same with fishing...you do it for a bit of peace etc. don't understand why you'd want to drag your woman with you with everything you do. Same with shopping, I hate shopping so she goes on her own while I go out with the mutt or go fishing, good arrangement me thinks I know what you are saying rob,
  5. They're not that fast  Even I can catch them and I'm an old crippled has been After all, they still have little short legs just like all mustelids. As far as I'm concerned the only downside is the colour which doesn't show up as much in thick cover as a white ferret. Though with the Marklll box even that isn't a problem. And they don't stay above ground for long: all they want to do is find the next set of holes. No worries, that's why I'd quite like to see a video of one....I'll have a look on youtube to see if I can find one but I suspect there will be loads of vids labe

  8. yes they just put him in and he got placed first I think. Also, she runs around naked now. She is much better in the hedgerow. I just wanted to put a pic of her. NAKED? as opposed to what? clothed??? You do know this is a hunting forum don't you?
  9. They definitely ain't stupid, they are underestimated as pets aswell. I've always had them even when I didn't go ferreting, proper entertaining little things. yeah id rather have a pet ferret than a cat or hamster anyday least they have personality..although did have a hamster like a dog too used to follow me even out of its cage..and rabbits i used to have were dead nasty .. hamsters have to be the most pointless creature on the planet!

  11. THL has gone high profile.......Steven Speilberg is now a member!
  12. Do you have this on DVD, I'd be interested in a copy if you do?
  13. you don't have any video clips of one of these polecats do you by any chance? I'd be quite interested to see the differences in movement etc. from normal ferrets you've mentioned. If they do move much faster than normal ferrets that must be a pain when ferreting surely? partly because of the increased kill rate underground but also making sure you don't lose them. With a normal ferret you know that even if it popped up 30 yards away and ran at full speed in the opposite direction you could still catch them pretty easily. One of these could probably get away quite easily couldn't it?
  14. I'd work it for a bit more than one season and give it a bit more thought before you just unnecessarily churn out a litter to be honest. It will only be bred if he proves himself to be a good worker, and when that happens he can be bred. after one season? if thats all he takes to prove himself then possibly what's the rush to breed?

  16. Some folk cant get their head round the fact that you can indeed feed your ferrets with large concentrations of nothing but what they'd come by naturally & what they've evolved to get by on. For that to happen, far too many poor innocent creatures would be harmed.. It's like this obsession people have with giving their dogs dried food that is labelled 'complete' and thinking that no diet is good for a dog unless a corporation have printed 'complete' on the packaging, then you look at the contents and it's full of fillers.....immoral marketing at its best, fool people into thinking the
  17. so are you suggesting a natural diet is not satisfying the appropriate dietary requirements of ferrets? No. The statement you highlighted means that large quantities of muscle tissue would need to be consumed in order for a ferret to receive enough dietary Taurine. Are you a vet by any chance? No offence but your posts seem very similar to what vets spout when they're trying to get you to buy some of their expensive products that are totally unnecessary if an animal is eating what it should be eating naturally. Why exactly do you give your ferrets supplements if you're giving them
  18. The fact is, and this goes for dogs aswell, if you feed it a decent natural diet...or as close to a natural diet as you can, then you won't need to add any extra vitamins or supplements.....a supplement is just that, it's to make up for something it's lacking that it should be having. If you give it a natural diet it won't be lacking anything.
  19. I've always found cats are pretty crap at getting rid of rats, they'll catch mice and birds but I think rats are a bit too much for most cats to deal with, they don't like getting bitten.
  20. I wouldn't give it bread and milk bud, they're lactose intolerant.
  21. Am I a caffiene addict? I have a headache cos I've only had 2 coffees so far.....one addict dies and another appears, I'm just pure rock n roll!
