I can't take my Patterdale x JRT to the vet till tomorrow and she has suddenly got a small red looking patch just beneath an eye and two other whitish (at present) rough patches on different legs. We checked her over afterwards but it was the other dog that had a visible bite and blood on his muzzle so he got the hibiscrub treatment and seems fine. The skin hasn't actually broken beneath the eye but looks as if it might start bleeding/oozing but no sign of pus. I don't think I should bathe this even in v dilute hibiscrub in case itirritates it. Do you think Sudocream is a good idea?

How do you cope with your bitches when they come into season? We have to take our girl with us when we go to the field and she then goes off hunting and only usually reappears when we leave so not always sure where she is and if she's alone. Is there a 'pill' for dogs these days?

We only bought this collar a couple of weeks ago and are very careful to turn it off when we get home. It is pernickety about being turned on and the last couple of days even putting a new battery in doesn't help. Today though with the OH away and really needing it to work didn't matter what I tried: taking battery out to make sure no dampness, rubbing all contacts, it simply wouldn't work. We only went to the expense of buying this as young terrier is so small and busy she'd try to go down a mousehole I reckon! She is quite prepared to lick your searching hand before backing down t
