sorry to affend you but yes it maybe can catch bunnies but there is a lot better dogs out there for bunnies any bull x ive seen are hard mouthed and lack the stamina for big bags and dont have the speed or turning ability.so im just going off what ive seen(waiting for some smart arse to say i aint seen much lol) and for me who sells them to the butcher they have to be unmarked so i will stick to what ive got, saying that if i wanted a dog for smashing i would need bull cross as it would do better than my other.pleased you have a world beater wish i had one.dog aint for sale now more ive though -

because i aint got the work for him as we all know how hard its getting with everywhere being on top and i dont think a bull x is really a rabbit only dog. dont get me wrong im plesed with him but pointless having such a big dog for rabbits..... -

i have a bitch its dam was pure greyhound.sire 1/2 saluki 1/4 whippet 1/4 greyhound so not far from that cross she is fast and catches well but as said might not have the stamina of other crosses although not tried and tested yet only 15 month old

i dont know anything of her as a pup i bought her at 8 month she has had all her jabs though.i will keep a close eye now and give her a break every few runs and if tired il call it a night.when i think back i did give her a real hard graft all within 3/4 of a hour,it was probly mainly down to me
-
you might be right bullmastif as she hardly carries any body fat.and ginny only reason i aint been out is the ground been too hard.i dont want broken toes will be out every night now
-
i would of thought if i give her some food it would give her more chance of not having a fit.im going to try diorolyte in between runs, the diet has been changed and she done it on old one and new one and the diet she is on now is the same as my mates dog and it can run very big numbers of bunnies night in night out without any probs
-
where do you get electrolites from?no never cramped up i noticed soon enough and gave her the mars bar in time which fetched her round thank god.i would of fed her through day but i didnt know i was going until last minuite
-
no its my other dog that blows the 1 im on about hardly ever opens her mouth even after a good long course through the day and if she does she gets her breath back instantly.she has no injuries either.im puzzled she ran 3 mile out of back of car one night and then at the last 2 fields got 2 shot and retrieved hare each good long courses and never broke sweat
-
oh i know what you mean now the stuff that was used for chip pans.lol how much of that should i give them each day?will they not get high cholestral i do feed them all together each night and they wolf it until they are full the pup gets whats left in the morning as its same ammount as night feed, maybe its because i left her without feed from the night before when i ran her but i know a few people who do it like this and they have no problems i will try feeding them at dinner times now
-
i have tried to feed her more but she will only eat so much and will only eat once a day.can u get the dripping from any supermarket?at the minuite im feeding raw chicken mince pasta veg and a tiny bit of dried food and a egg i split this between all 3 of my dogs and they get enough as they each leave a tiny bit and my pup eats that as his second meal
-
yes i fully understand that but i have a 3/4grey 1/4saluki which imo has no where near as much stamina as this one and puffs and blows off a few runs but can catch this ammount easy and other people who have not worked there dogs due to the weather dont have this problem and i have had mine out walking for 2 hour each day which a lot wont get and also i run them at 10mph a fe few times a week for 6 mile so i doubt there unfit
-
9 bunnies and 1 long ear i was well pleased with her.hope i find out the problem or else she will be retiring to a house dog, shame but rather that than cause her pain
-
well after being stuck in for a month because of the hard ground i decided with it being a good night last night i would take my dog for a night out on my permission,i have been walking her plenty and letting the dogs run freely just not running them after game, anyway i started lamping at 10pm first couple of slips no result next field 4 runs 3 caught and all retrieved, on to next field there was a few about but most were away first flash of the lamp although got another 4 all retrieved next field got a squatter as it lifted a hare also lifted so i knocked the lamp off and let it away as we a

nice looking dog mate, expected it to look much different

i recently bought a pup from a lad a saluki grey x bull grey he owned the sire and its brother they were genuine first x saluki grey, to me they looked more like greyhounds being smooth haired and well built he told me both were good allrounders but one was more suited to daytime catching hare regular where the other was more suited to lamping and being better on fox they both done the lot but were each better at certain things i suppose its more the dog as u never get two dogs the same from a litter
-
the more bull you have in a dog it wont be able to catch hare as easy imo
-
i bought a striker and pushed wire up and taped behind the red end so it cant pull too far out and and break connections i used it for a year and has been fine, and i bought another one as a spare and it had a thick washer cable on which is tight in the red end i like this one better as it doesnt catch on bushes and stretch bettewr imo but no good if you lamp from the vehicle
