  1. i think its about £30 but say his ticket says 22lr plus sound mod that means he can only buy one 22lr and sound mod and if he wants to buy another he will need to put in variation for 22lr plus sound mod costing about £30 and that the same for all calibers , the 22 hornet is going to be a little cheaper maybe looking at about £600 for full setup and ammo is about £30 for 50 , i have a few mates that shoot with this cal and they drop foxes out to 200 yards no probs reguarly,
  2. the 22 ammo only £4 a box of 50 aswell
  3. any cz brno 22lr wil do the job mate ui bought a 22lr brno mod 1 made in 1950s shoots sub 1" @ 50yards no prob cost me £100 and since had barrel cut down to 12" for £60 and fitted silencer for £30 endless fun to shoot mate and will go for ever and ever (touch wood)!!! a 223 is going to be a lot more expensive and would be looking to buy a new rifle if poss with it being a hot round and you want the barrel in as good condition as possible and not soem gun that has had million rounds through it at a range and is on its last legs to get a nice set up for fox you prob looking at £1000 have a
  4. if getting 22lr and .223 i wouldnt bother with 22hornet as 22lr for rabbit etc out to say 75 - yards and .223 for fox
  5. just been reading through your recent posts mate and i think you may find it hard getting CF at the age of 15 personally i would get either 22lr or .17hmr/.17mach 2 and get out there and put some holes i paper and use up some rounds so whn you apply for CF you can prove you have been putting rounds out and getting experiance cos air rifles is the main starting point for everyone but it is totally different from shooting even 22 rimmy cos they do bounce a lot and after you have heard a few rikky off the ground and hit a few trees in the distance it does open you eyes a bit and make you think ,
  6. cant beat the 22lr for out n out rabbit tool , but im not sure if the laws are different down your way but you have to state the farms you wish to use the rifle on on your application and then they sign your firearms to that farm then normally for the first 5 years you can only shoot on land that is deemed suitible by chief cunstuble of police (land that has been checked) which is what is says on your cet then after renewal this term is removed, try go for 22 hornet or 223 on first application they seem to be more accepted cals of centre fire It is not a big fuss mate they just meet you down
  7. it all depends on cartridge load really mate obv the heavier cart the more kick , also like said before what are the main uses i.e clays mainly 24-28g loads with number 7 1/2 hardly no kick at all any many women use a 12 loaded with these no probs , but if say on pigeons or game say 32g no 5 or 6 a bit more kick and may feel it after a good day on pigeons so therefore a 20 bore would be better but from what i have seen 20 bore carts seem to be a little more expensive atb kev
  8. How the tables have turned Mr charlie ha ha ha
  9. just had a look on there webiste and he says they all wild birds too !!!
  10. out to 120 yards there is hardly any diference between the hmr and the mach 2 in the way of trajectory, obvisouly there is a big difference in energy with the mach 2 only 166ftlb at the muzzle but as both calibers are only really mean for small vermin control (rabbits ) this dont come as a problem , on the other hand if most of the shoting is further than 120 yards then the hmr comes into its own hands down but for a rabbit gun with flat trajectory, very accurate round and cheap ammo its mach 2 all the way
  11. hi john i just got a cz452 .17 mach 2 had cut down to 16" and fitted with decimeter moderator , now looking at a custom stock ,its quiter than hmr , ammo only £5 a box, same trajectory as hmr out to about 125 yards then does drop off a little bit more , still comming out at 2100fps and really accurate little round well worth a look if you are wanting a rabbit buster with a bit more poke than 22lr
  12. why not apply for both fac and sgc then get a 22lr and a .410 moderated then you sorted for rabbits, crows, pigeons, squirrel, dispatch of fox in trap atb kev
  13. id go woth a tikka t3 no doubt about it for out of box accuracy and not bad price come in synthetic stock too
  14. bought these thinking i would get away with size 13 but they are a tight fit 13 and would say they more a 11 with decnet pair of socks or 12 without so up for grabs for £30
  15. is that a custom stock you have had made
  16. myself and a few others who i shoot with have there barrel cut down to 12" and have no prob at all and as said before coes in really handy when shooting from truck, i did a few tests before i got barrel cut down to see if it would change accuracy jus tby putting targets out at 50 and 100 yads shooting 5 group shot at each then again when barrel was cut down to 12 and on 50 yards actually got tighter group (could of just been good day) and at 100 yards almost identical so that cleared my doubts of weather i was sacrificing accuracy etc atb kev
