    Be prepared to put the miles in and look further a feild. Go out into the wilds, look at maps and look at remote farms miles from the road sides these farms should not get hit with permission hunters and poachers.. Ask in known hot spots and around shoots.. Most say no but if you get on its golden ground.. Go in june, july and August when rabbits are at there hight and running all over the parish ask then, Thats when farmers physically see the problem..     Sounds like what my dog was like had colitious.. Always had sloppy turd compared to the other dogs and was always a bit thiner. Went right thin and was shitting blooded jelly before It was diagnosied colitius.. Starved the dog for 48 hrs. Fed small meals of cooked rice and chicken 6 times aday and reduced the the times dog was fed after a few days and increased the meal size.. Dogs back on normal feed now.. Hope you get it sorted..

    you should not lamp hares they are not at there best on the lamp so yes 40 rabbits would be a lot harder to catch but i think youll find hares are faster imo Its not that cut and dry... In little stone walled feilds you could murder hares, big open land with bottomless dykes you could flatten dogs of a few slips. Some bits of land it would be possible to acheive 40 odd rabbits with one dog and on fast flat land on educated game, dog and handler would be lucky to catch 20. More dogs would get closer to the 40 rabbits than they would on ten good hares. Some dogs wont even c

    Some hares are really stupid at night, I have pre ban seen hare took much easier than rabbits from the same farm. If your dogs hitting them on the seat or getting right close over the first 10 - 15 yards the hares much easier to catch its a bigger target.. JMO Mind if the hares are educated or given much longer slips they are much more of a challenge seen dogs stright lined from a hare never a rabbit.

    Good read wilf good to hear fellow dogmen looking after there dogs correctly, Steve that a right sad tale.. Taking my bitch for a few tonight, This dogs been the bain of my life. Its been off since Oct had a toe off. Its looking a picture of health its been trotting beside the bike, living in the house and eating the best of beef. Prior to that the dogs had colitus and a broken jaw. fingers crossed it makes it home tonight lol. Its Very keen and runs reckless its going on a five miler soon to hopefully take the edge of that.. The vets on speed dial...
