  1. For purchase price and running cost what the better option?? Looking at 2004 and newer models.. G, Vitara Diesel and Jimny petrol.. Also looked at L200 2.5 td or Trooper 3.0 TDI LWB.. For between 3.5 and 5 k whats your thoughts. Have read some reviews on line, Jimny seem to be as thirsty as the bigger 4x4 and aint that roomy in the back. I did have a old Vit JLX and found that ok, just kept needing loads of work and welding. At moment me Van is doing 50 MPG, wondering if I should just run it into the ground. Cant afford to keep and run two cars Want car for commu

  3. One thing for sure... If I wanted a Minshaw type I would becareful were I sourced it from.. Last Litter I seen advertised, what a joke they never even had the breeding right, sales ploy . I prefer Moscows Bull crosses, even if they cant do it on the Big flat wheat feilds recon they could do it in stonewalled feilds
  4. Had disasters with bags could not seperate them. Snapped a freezer drawer f*****g about with them... I dont mince me own dont have the space or time, Its a big operation on that type of scale Moll.. I down sized was running dog fridges and freezers Electric bills were through the roof, was also running heat lamp.. sacked them all off now battle with the mrs for freezer space she often gose for a magnum finds the freezer packed with mince lol.. If I had more free time and endless space I would like to adopt that sort of feeding approach.

Would really like to go again and see abot of hunting but dont think It will happen to many commitments these days They look like big whippets... Got an old DVD with some old English fella ferreting in OZ with the Tunnel cage Trap Things  he was a cracking shot with a 12g too.. Recon NZ would be a a good climate to run dogs looks a nice green place pigs goats rabbits hares probly got deer to
  6. Can't say for sure, Steve, but it was before I got married, so that would be about '71 or '72. Started lamping with Non-Ped Whippets then went on to Lurchers. I realy prefered daytime then, but soon got the lamping bug ! Cheers. In them days did you have more of a right to roam or could you still get shipped of to OZ  When did they stop that carry on early 1900s?? Be alright if they still sent offenders off there now I would have a wee walk on the darkside
  7. Dont tempt me Mally... I have always admired your dogs and the condition you keep them in... At the moment I could not commit to a young dog but thats a smashing looking pup. I prefer bitches too
  8. Chartpolski when did you first go out with a lamp?? What is the oldest literature kicking about in someones loft or shed regarding lamping?? I would have a small whippet for pottering about in the daytime, could be quite fun mabye not get into as much trouble ?? Then again my luck I would get one that was smashing deer for fun
  9. Don't worry FUJI.. she will not be running anything intentionally for at least another 2mth..even though she has the speed i will still hold back.. .. I have been taking her out on the quad bike which is a 400cc and as you can imagine it can accelerate pretty quick..i was messing about in a flat field the other day booting the quad up and down and she kept over taking me.. ..so i know she will be more than capable of catching the odd easy bunnie in a couple of month... Collie crosses dont need to be fast to bounce rabbits of fences You should know that or read be reading more
  10. Animal Fats and Red meat. I get minced marble fat from butcher
  11. All joking aside this dosent even belong on a hunting forum

  14. Your not both scared of the rain are you ????
  15. Aye fella I take it you walk them every day, I would hardly call it graft.. If thats the case mine work everyday of the year sometimes twice a day.. If you run your dog on 40 odd rabbits a night every night, would it sustain that level of graft 7 days , 14 days and then 21 ?? I could have a dog sat over nets everyday of it life or out flushing daytime rabbits every day it no comparison it still would not be running at it peak.. I think bordering of cruetly is a bit much.. Some lads graft dogs and push their dogs beyond their physical limits, they house in poor c
  16. Worked daily?? To what level ?? Handful of rabbits or bagsful?? I Dont even work my dogs everyday in the season, My dog is a cardboard cutout after a hard session it gets good grub and rest.. You surely cant push dogs full steam day in day out ?? When the seasons full swing 4/5 nights is more enought for man and beast.. My dogs are always fit and well but not "match fit" in the off season..
  17. Aye its wet enought here too Could count the hot sunny days on one hand so far... I have had a few strolls with the dogs but would not dream of lamping, tho its tempting to get cracking lol
  18. Anyone will know there are risks when working dogs, but you can reduce some uncessesary injuries. One for me would be not running my dog throught the summer on hard ground... But with the weather we have had I would not worrie about running them.. I know I will struggle come dec and jan to get good numbers, so I wont go at them now there would be nothing left come oct lol. I would for "reducing the weight" up the exercise and reduce the food intake with regular adjustment all dogs will respond differently. I would not worrie to much about a little extra weight soon run it off with
  19. Dont think Simon has much to worry about . f**k ferreting Go to slimming world Bunch of noisey amateurs .
  20. Do you get many in the longnets fella?? how many yards are you running out??
  21. Yeah agree with that he was the better dog on the nights he ran... He won fair and square.
  22. I used to like a few ciders and a bit Slanging match... It effects me spelling and grammer to much its better done sober
  23. Hedz, While I understood what you meant, I did not realise that my cider fueled ramblings would cause you such angst. As far as blowing smoke up your or anyone else who reads this ass is concerened. I was just having my say, in my way, the same as any other member here. The fact that you could understand it is a bonus, dont you think? TC Drink and the internet dont mix well
  24. I was just being daft them comps dont float my boat... I would travel for good numbers but some of the heats never produced what I would call a good night.. Think Tomo and mark caught a few but the others were in the teens??
  25. Fair play to him, was a circus from what I remember.. I Fancied Mark Brick to win .. So whens the next Comp ??
