  1. Feel your pain fella.. Would be spewing to have that gear stolen from me.. Knowing the price of equipment and your hard earned cash gone in a second.. Hope the scum get what they deserve...
  2. As title says.. Can somebody please pm me his number
  3. Load of pish they dont fear the collar mine never made the connection at all.. I bought sportdog collar, dog wore it twice got blast 3 times and never looked a sheep after than.. Collars in the box. Dont know why you would build them up, desencitizing them to it.. Its in the name really "shock". It may be different with gun dogs as they would have to find and flush hares and it may not be an every day occurance but with my lurcher and sheep it was an instant result really
  4. you should let the dog wear the collar for 2 weeks a month and slowly build up corrections with it. i would not go out on wed and let the dog on a hare and zap him on full power thats very silly Whys it silly ??? It will learn almost instantly whats the point fecking about for 2 weeks of a month on corrections the problems chasing hares Will work straight away fella few snaps and the dog wont even look at them again
  5. breeze and red Looks completly different to the one my pal had...
  6. Some distance Done 15 mile at the most with mine but then its rest not running rabbits.. You still going to have a run with Markbrick ?? Dog looks in good nick any more pictures?? Was that out of Breeze and Red or different litter ??
  7. Good result.. Think RAW was establishing if you split up or stayed togther and went slip for slip ?? Maybe wrong
  8. These make good money on EBay fella...
  9. 30 rabbits is good scores would it catch more being faster ?? Would it burn out faster ?? Nobody knows If the lad likes the dog and its been trusty Mut why not breed it to a racier type, hoping for a bit more speed and adding Versatility
  10. My old white bitch is evil with pups.. Even her own had a trip to vets she just gets pissed off with them, then wack screaming pup with punture wounds How olds Bryn now ?? Not fancy lining him to something to keep his blood going ??
  11. Have you kept dogs out of them ones in the pics ??
  12. Aye it will be getting dark soon.. Supose its experiance for him, did he know what was going on ? Some lads take pups everywhere with then no matter where or what time.. At that age i normally leave them with the ladies, its all sitting on the sofa and chewing my shoes
  13. Does he still keep dogs or is he retired ?? Caithness where he used to stay ?? Must of been good back in the day these dog men living with an abundance of game offering lodgings and nights out... These days you have to keep your head down and watch out for lads sticking the knife in and sneeking back on your ground
  14. I Thought I had read strong grew influnce... Did you get the pup off MCphee ?? Did he have a couple of good dogs or did he keep a line ??
  15. Nice pup Bird.. Not a dig but I cant see why taking such a young dog out would benifit it?? I would be fearful it would get skittled, I know I have been a few times
  16. Could they not flush to hawks or waiting guns ?? My interpretation of the act there could be something in there for a running dog That stalking of flushing out section.. Hare coursing events are banned but a "feild trial" is within the act.. Was there not some cases where people tried to work around the act with guns on hand and muzzled hounds ?? Was that not something to what the FAT Lady got into hot water with?? Dont really care for the Hunting Act but would not break the law myself
  17. I get what folk are saying, dogs smashing dykes and injuring themselfs are nightmare.. Dogs pulling up or wont run a rabbit sat tight on a hedge are a pain.. A decent dog will follow its game but be able to keep on eye on the rabbit and the other looking for danger.. My white bitch catches more rabbits on a hedge bottom or boucing off a stone wall compaired to out in the open it can catch them in the open but runs clever bidding its time often.. I would never have a dog pulling up on a hedge but these pile in hard types are not good to me, its a fine balance between high prey drive an
  18. Tidy animal... How were MCphees lamp dogs bred??
  19. Great thread and pictures fella Anymore pictures from your coursing days ?? Do any clubs still meet and conduct themselfs within the Hunting Act or did they stop ??
  20. One of my dogs is dateless and has spent more time in the sick bay than in a feild.. To much drive not enought brain
  21. Would you not go down the full saulki line??????? To be honest mate I have never seen either run.. I have asked about on a few forums over the years and genral feel from experianced coursing men was to go for line bred saluki lurcher. I was looking to make my dog that bit better in the daytime, some lads thought whippet/ grey but also thought Dogs would loose stamina. I dont run big open fen land I run more of a mixeture of arable feilds, fell ground and smaller padocks. Just rabbits of mind Whos is Farmer Dave Minshaw Man, what type a lurcher does he keep ??
  22. Did Derbylads Bitch not have them and he had to have the bitch spade ??
