    mepps no 7 are the business..... im just back from pike fishing. got on to the water about 2pm today until 6pm. caught 9 in total i got 8 & my mate got 1. my two heaviest were a 10lber and a 7lber & all were caught on the mepps #7. my mate was using a copper spoon and had nothing until i let him use my spinner then he caught 1. a small perch lol niall_b73

    hi there, i use three hobs for my ferreting. i have a mk3 locator but the land i ferret is sandy dunes on the coast so the burrows do run very deep and the dig would be a bit much. i have had 2 occasions so far when 1 of my ferrets has not appeared and after a while i just put another ferret in and it seem to move him on. the longest i have had to wait was just over an hour n a half but the have always came back thankfully niall_b73

    good luck on your expedition, lol i have always wanted to give the bass a try & having only recently moved to the coast now i have the chance. my only problem is i would not have the first clue as where to start. i have only ever caught mackerel n dogfish from the shore, more used to pike & coarse fishing. enjoy the cider niall_b73

    Who did you apply for permission off ? thanks alot mate it was owned by the council (the dunes still are) but when the rest of the land was up for sale a group of locals got a syndicate going and purchased the land. i just asked the locals walking their dogs who was in charge and they pointed me in the right direction. when i asked for permission i was told i could do what i wanted as long as no vehicles went on the land and no digging (with a bit of luck i wont have to). niall_b73

    well the land i have permission for sounds pretty much like yours. it is common land to which i have gotten permission for. it also has sand dunes next to the sea which are protected, but they are abundant with rabbits tho i have not tried it yet due to a fear of losing the ferrets in the grass. as for the cave ins i have been lucky so far. the ground has cattle on it constant so there is a lot of well grazed land to hunt on. so prob permission needed wherever you go. good luck hunting niall_b73
