  2. The Lough Ree International Pike Angling Festival is here to stay. Ireland’s latest angling event was a resounding success fished over three days on the vast 16 mile long lough at Athlone – and to win any of the six prizes each day it was necessary to catch a pike of 18lb or more! More than 60 anglers – from Germany, France, England, Northern Ireland and Ireland – competed from boats launched from Coosan Point and Hodson Bay as they battled to catch the biggest fish and win the €3,000 first prize and share in a total cash prize fund of €10,000 The champion for 2010 is Kevi

  15. well we set out again last saturday to try a new lough on the border that we had not fished before. we got there about 9 and set out on the boat & started spinning. this is a big lough so had done a full lap of it and nothing. on the second trip around the lake we concentrated more on the shallow bays and not long after that bang (finally after 3 full days of no fish) i had a fish. it was only a small jack pike but a pike none the less. further up another bay i hit into another pike this one turned out to be just over 6lb & the biggest of the day. later we were trolling

  19. i just want to know why the so called MOD'S are deleting my threads with out any warning i thing this is very unfair, also if i am breaking any rules i want to know what rules i am breaking to warrent the deletion ?? it was a harmless poll which was doing no harm except for showing support for a fellow member niall_b73
  20. while they would be very nice to look at mate, you have posted it in the wrong thread. this is the fishing section.. happy hunting niall_b73
  21. valid point tho i have to say having a fishfinder and being on lough erne there were hardly any fish showing up at all. you would think on a big water like that you would be bumping into shoal after shoal but it was not meant to be !! niall_b73
  22. had a boat hired on a small lake on the border near belleek looking for pike. we bailed out all the water and set up the fishfinder and headed out into the lake. plenty of fish showing up and in very deep water. but fcuk me if the water did'nt start to fill in the boat. it was coming in as quick as i could bale it out so had to come ashore. got a refund and got another water tight boat for lower lough erne. i shall return. so now we were out on lower lough erne (which was very low on water) all day saturday with a mate and we tried everything under the sun and not as much as a b
