  1. I agree annmarie, my guess it a virus shoundn be running on a mince diet. I have that dog with the vet after two days.
  2. Tripe and fatty meat twice a day untill she is conditioned, then once a day. Commercial stuff no good for a working dog especially this winter. Best of luck
  3. Swear by raw tripe too, wolves had not vets in the wild or can openers. I reared a greyhound and raced won the most consistant dog of the yr at my local track. Have to say thou, three or four days a week and meat and nuts the rest is a good variety for the dog. Also when u see a dog eating grass its the partly digested grass in the un washed tripe is what he is after thats where he gets hes vitamins, dogs cant digest the raw grass and herbs. Hope thats of use to ya
  4. Most i got was 20 started at 8.30 and finished at 4.00 average 10 0r 12. No large warrens on my land just small rabbit warrens here and there, rely on the terrier to find them rarely would there be more than 3 rabbits in the one burrow cant use nets if i wanted too brambles and thorn to thick
  5. No not pest control mate,u woouldn get the big numbers like u would with long nets and the bolting id average a ten or twelve a day helped by the terrier marking more for the sport, u get the hunting with the terrier the killing with the buck and what bolts, u get the chase brillant. just thinking lads even for u net men say u get a lay up, seriously woulldn a small handy battery operated ground auger be of huge benifit to drill to a pouch does that sound crazy cut out the labour. M ight have a word with Deben.
  6. Get a mini digger 8shots ha ha. No wouldn go within a mile of a bank, but the hedges here scoldy too.
  7. Ha ha it knock the wait of alright. After a while ull get handy one or two pocks with the bar and [bANNED TEXT] in. Must of my digging is on the hedges two or three feet digs at the must, i guess the ground burrows deeper alright. Dont get me wrong love the odd bold to the lurcher too no nets hear.
  8. Hiya lads new here so go easy on me. Ferreting 25 yrs now and still love it as much as the first day i went out. What i want to ask is i ferret with big killing bucks and love to the dig to the rabbit. A seasoned big hob could kill up to 20 rabbits in a day, surely he is an animal to be admired for that but most of u seem to think its not the proper way to ferret. Any comments or anyone out there that ferret this way?
  9. Plan and simple if there large hobs they will kill easier, i agree get small hobs or jills ya only be waisting [bANNED TEXT] time with them if u want them to bolt.
  10. Hey send them over to me son, we price good big killing bucks, unique to this part of the country. Get [bANNED TEXT] spade out and dig to [bANNED TEXT] kill, most rabbits my good hob killed was 16 one after the other and got 20 that day thats a lot fighting for a ferret in a days hunt, some ferret he was.
