  1. suzuki jimny's are brilliant, very small but superb little machines for the money, it all depends on exactly what you want to do with it
  2. Got to be suzuki jimny, they go anywhere but i don't think they do a diesel, alternatively get a daihatsu fourtrak, superb machines and pull like a train.
  3. Ford Ranger double cab pick up. Frame on the back for lamping or a box for the dogs, or remove both if im doing logs etc plus room in comfort for 4 or 5 at a push. Not too heavy on fuel and i drive it to the south of france without too many complaints from my passengers. Plus with a decent set of tyres i get anywhere i need to go and it tows trailers (horses, quad bike etc) quite happily. And you can get spare parts from tesco's.
  4. the universal filter that i bought for my lamp already had the hole cut in the middle, when i commented on it the guy in the shop assured me that it was to let the heat out, when i told him that it gives you a longer beam he disagreed profusely so i left telling him to do an experiment with a bit of tape.
  5. all of the modern pickups will do what you want it to do. all capable off road and not too terrible on fuel, i have a new ranger with the 3 litre engine and always get over 30 to the gallon, alternatively get a hilux, brilliant trucks but not quite so good on fuel. personally i wouldnt touch nissans or mitsubishis.
  6. find out if it is definately true then grass him up. twats like that should not have the privelege of shooting deer or any animal.
  7. I have heard good things about replacing the old wooden boards with very heavy duty acrylic or perspex then put your rubber mats back on top. Never rot and quite an easy job.
  8. Ive never had one been been in a few, i honestly didn't think they were any good at all. For the money i think you would be better off with something like a suzuki vitara which is a cracking little jeep in my opinion. Reliable and good off road with selectable 4x4 not this crappy viscous coupling jobby like the freelander or honda crv.
  9. Never done an auto mate, but it can't be rocket science, you will definately need a hydraulic axle lift or pit and a long stroke jack for getting the box in and out.
  10. Get a ford ranger or a hilux, dont touch mitsubishis or nissans. I've abused them all and the ranger and the toyota are the only ones worth putting a full tank of diesel in.
  11. Check the gearbox oil level mate, also when was the gearbox oil and filter last changed?
  12. poxy things should be banned (organised displays only) all our dogs hate it not to mention not being able to get to sleep. We have to jump through hoops to get firearms and shotguns yet any retard can go and buy a box full of explosives.
  13. I think 30-33 to the gallon is a bit ambitious, in my experience you will get nowhere near that unless you drive it like a geriatric sunday driver with arthritis in the right foot and you put around 60 psi in the tyres. Also, i can't speak for everything from them but in my experience milner is absoloute shite! Cheap chinese bearings and leafsprings that lasted for all of 10000 miles being just some of their achievements for me. I for one will never use them again.
  14. Excellent work horse trucks but very unrefined, i think at that age you'll struggle to get one that has been looked after. They're just as good off road as can be expected of any 4wd pick up but remember on that age of truck you will probably have manual hubs so be prepared to get out of the truck before every gateway. Try to avoid the non-turbo engine as you will need to send it a post card to warn it if you plan to do any overtaking. The back end as with any pick up will be very hard and can be a bit lively on corners and roundabouts (have seen a few people who were obviously new to pick up
  15. Boil the goose whole with a big stone in with it. Simmer for about six hours then allow to cool. Finally, throw away the goose and eat the stone.
  16. just check the shells as you pick them up, the maggots will leave a tell tale little hole in the shell, discard those ones.

  18. brilliant trucks, just a shame they're not diesel. i hear they rot quite readily in the arches and in the back so if it has a canopy or load liner see if you can remove it for inspection. Other than that they are superb. When you get stuck you can lever them out or we used to pull our old one out with the quad because they're so light and they don't do much damage to the tracks.
  19. no it won't, some engines run better on it. especially those with worn crowns and fuel pumps. the only reason i don't bother anymore is new oil is too expensive so henceforward not worth it. Some people get scared because it bungs your fuel filters up quickly to start with. The reason for this is that the oil is thicker so holds any crap in your tank in suspension for longer. Therefore it is more readily sucked into the fuel lines. If you start running on svo then change your fuel filter every thousand miles and each time cut it open with a hacksaw to see what muck is in there. Once you're cut

  21. Tosser! Trouble is, the uneducated watch that sort of crap and believe that all us legitimate sportsmen carry on the same way, ie killing things for the sake of it.
  22. I LOVE MY COUNTRY BUT I FEAR MY GOVERNMENT.
  23. Any sportsman must use what he feels comfortable with. I personally like the hv rounds in my .22. Accuracy never seems to be an issue, i don't make my self out to be any type of crack shot but i can group 5 rounds one after the other into the bottom of a red bull can at around 100 yards and i haven't had a charlie run far yet once i put the cross hairs on him. Ofcourse one must take into consideration the limitations of a .22.
  24. I do apologise dear chap, they are remington yellow jacket hollow point that i have been using (theres a picture of a wasp on the box).
