Shooting my new 22 rimfire rifle - advice
bert69 replied to RogerTheCat's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
my brno .22 rimfire must have had over 10 000 rounds through it and i have never cleaned the bore. Point of impact never changes and we're popping rabbits with it at 30 to 70 yards all night long. -
I have for sale an air arms s410 classic carbine .22 with moderator, non fac, this rifle is in a1 condition and has genuinely fired less than 1000 pellets. Comes with its hawke 6x44 illuminated reticle scope, padded sling and 3litre buddy bottle with adaptor, all ready to go. £500 ono Call Luke on 07500999746

mixi is an artificially introduced disease that causes suffering and removes a link in the foodchain in the areas it strikes for some time. so i believe your comments to be misguided and ill-informed

We run a rayburn supreme multifuel and i burn any old stuff i can get my hands on, i have chopped approximately 3 tons of 1 year seasoned ash which burns beautifully and can keep it in overnight maintaining an oven temp of 150 degrees overnight. This range does our cooking, hot water amd central heating and keeps the kitchen lovely and warm, whoever turns up can't resist resting their behinds on it! I supplement our decent logs with 4x4" timbers from our machine crates at work which get the think cooking but don't last as they are mainly spruce and other sofwood. Best comprimise fuel is standi

b*****ds, lad on our shoot had one stolen last week from a bit of land he's got permission on. This one was visible from the road if you looked for it so he padlocked it with chain to the tree it was up against (approx 2' diameter oak tree) the dirty thieving scum chainsawed the tree down to nick it.

Had my SGC interview yesterday

I'm biased because i only shoot Beretta's but i don't think you can go far wrong with a beretta white onyx, essentially the same as a silver pigeon. I've had mine 4 years now and it's been abused had thousands of shells through it, is still tight and in very good condition even though i only clean it if it gets wet. If it broke tomorrow i'd be at my regular gun shop in the afternoon getting another one. -
Maidstone, Kent mate but just got back from taking to our local scrappy, had 1.3 ton in the end and got 130 quid a ton for it as it was just old gates corrugated iron etc.
-
Any of you chaps know what sort of price scrap steel is fetching at the minute? I have a load of old gates, fence wire, galv sheeting, angleiron etc to get rid of. Anyone know what price it is fetching at the minute? Cheers, Luke.

Some blokes do use terriers as an extension to their obviously inadequate manhood. One terrierman i met reckoned he shot his terriers if they missed a fox. He used to 'train' them on cubs. Prick! People like that don't deserve to have the right to keep animals. Everything does need a rest but on a commercial shoot if you have to dig cubs then so be it.

Just curry it as an intro mate, just shop bought jars with a few onions veggies sweetcorn etc thrown in for good measure, great way to get people on to it. Did it for the lads at work one weekend on nights and was always getting asked when i was gonna bring the next potfull in.

Well, my girlfriends mum has had one for years, about 3 years ago the engine went into self destruct and to be fair isuzu rebuilt it even tho it was well out of warranty foc, its a t plate and now has about 90k on it, been a really good vehicle apart from the meltdown 3 years ago.

Nice rant there mate. I know how you feel, i made a mistake once with expiry dates and ended up having to get a same day passport, they charged me more than double the price for the privelege of sitting in stinking london for 4 hours while some paki sorted my passport out.

In a vehicle like a vitara or a jap pick up etc the vehicle runs around (in 2wd) in rear wheel drive. The drive coming through your gearbox, through your transfer box, to a differential and to your wheels. When you engage four wheel drive this process is in effect just doubled up. The drive splits via the transfer box a set 50/50 turning your rear prop as before and now your front prop to drive the diff for your front wheels aswell. With these vehicles with viscous arrangements you don't actually have any four wheel drive control of your own, they rely upon wheels slipping in order to give you

In my opinion they're not worth a thankyou, couldn't drag the skin off a rice pudding and i hear they have mega trouple with their silly viscous coupling diffs like freelanders. If you're looking for a small truck then i would say go down the suzuki route for sure.
-
If you want a small pickup mate, get a subaru, hard to find them in good condition nowadays ill admit but they were awsome little trucks, go anywhere.

Caution, Interesting, but may offend those of a sensitive nature.

I can understand what you say about it not having a detachable mag and the safety aspect but i've found it to be no hinderance at all. All i do is poke 3 shells in then hold down the top one while sliding bolt forward. When an oppurtunity arises you simply need to chamber a round as you would do with a detachable mag.

There protected under the hunting with dogs act. You're right my good man, i thought you were suggesting that they were protected full stop.
-
since when have mink been protected? They get the same protection as the grey squirrel under the invasive species act don't they?
