You can tow up to 750kg unbraked no problem, so if you got a small garden trailer that just fits your quad you will be fine, though to be honest just do your test mate, cost me about 250 quid, that was 2 hours training and the test but i had been towing illegally for 8 years oblivious to the law.

Used cz brno all my life, just bought a cz silhouette, superb is all i can say, i can knock a gnats bollock off at 60 yards every time. Shoot every bit as accurate as any anshutz or sako you can buy.

Since tightening the screws as suggested it seems fine, ive never touched these screws so can only presume they have loosened with recoil?

Hi all, i have a howa 1500 in .243 with a synthetic thumbhole stock. I noticed this evening that it has become very loose in the stock ie the metal to wood fit is no longer very good, the gun is around 4 years old and has had a couple of hundred shells through it, anyone experienced anything similar on this or any other type of gun? The gun still shoots straight but it quite obviously isn't right, you can physically see the action moving in the wood, any suggestions?

If you lived in kent you'd be more than welcome to do some pigeon/squirrel shooting on our farms in return for some graft with our syndicate, hedge laying, pen building, feeding etc etc. I know that doesn't help you a fat lot but perhaps find a local diy syndicate and offer your services especially if you sre handy with a chainsaw/ have a truck etc.

Agreed, shoot on site just make sure theres no twitchers about. .243 with 58 grain hornady ballistics is their ideal breakfast!

Dare i say it, ebay mate, put it on there for a fair length of time and wait for the green oval boys to get a stiffy.

I'd rather cut my dick off than live in London, i get half way home from that shithole and i have to pull over and go roll in some mud and hug a tree, let the wogs and the poles have it, it's wrecked!

Damn, looks like i've missed all the petty infighting and bad mouthed keyboard warrior bitching on this subject since i haven't been online. I gathered by the beginning few posts that certain persons were slagging off Bunwell Wood shoot. Well, i can honestly say that if you want a horrible reception, bad mannered personnel, inadequate accomodation and few deer in a truly horrible corner of the country then Bunwell Wood definately isn't the place for you.

That bloody Jeremy Vine gives airtime to mongs who spout such nonsense as 'all those who own guns are psychotic and should be locked up' yet when i phone up to give my view they aren't taking anymore calls, typical!

On our shoot we are all working men with such varied occupations as engineer (me), plumber, electrician, farmer, caravan repairer, fencing contractor, tree surgeon, carpenter, banker, estate agent. Hardly high tea and bum stroking at the big house is it? Yet, after all the swearing, piss taking and practical jokes of the work parties we all turn out in moleskins, breeks, flat caps, shirt and tie. It's a matter of respect and tradition, we've allowed most of our traditions to be eroded, not this though please!

Any advice for a complete crayfish novice from kent? I am a member of several fishing clubs that control some stream fed ponds/estate lakes and sections of river medway, river beult and royal military canal, anyone know if theres any about before i give it a try?

i'm a fan of the plastic although i have both. Plastic doesn't rust and most well stocked gun shops will stock them or you could order online. 5 and 10 shots readily available at my local dealer.

Have you lost one of your foxes FOXDROPPER
bert69 replied to FOXHUNTER's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
looks more like a p***y site than a farm, is that pony in a pen with a load of scrap double glazing and a car on bricks? What a shit hole. Talking of pikeys, Lurcher Boys? -
You'll sure be using more fuel than a KA but if you can get a hilux from someone you know and you know it hasn't been worked like a dog then you'll have a nice vehicle, prepare for a distinct lack of creature comforts and more visits to the bp garage but i don't think you could have a better vehicle than a double cab pickup, what other vehicle could i have driven to scotland and back in relative comfort and at decent speed all the way from kent, then the next day drive through boggy fields and load up with a load of logs for the rayburn?
-
i reckon you'd be looking 3-4 grand. I paid 6 for my 04 plate double cab and it was an ex shb hire vehicle so had been well used but all body was straight and only had 60k miles. Mk 4 hilux aren't quite as good on fuel as the latter d4d engine which i have i think you'll be looking at 25 to the gallon with 30 on a run. Hilux seem to hold their money for good reason they are very well made, and ultra reliable, however that has also been their downfall as people think they don't have to look after them, finding a good one is hard because they get beaten about alot. Get one if you can but don't b

I'm a member and i would say it's worth it, you don't have to pay to view the site and to post questions however, it's worth joining just to get the discount codes from the members area. You get good rates at places like roughtrax and you'll save the 7.50 on your first order of brakepads etc.

Always exciting getting new kit! i was lazy really in my choice as i knew i liked them and had a go with a mates so just went with it rather than try out loads of others. I went second hand on my .243 which alot of people shy away from but i bought it from a friend. The only anschutz i tried was a semi auto and all it did was jam up all the time.

I've got a cz silhoutte, bought from sporting gun centre and sent to a local rfd, came in at just under 500 quid for rifle (16'' barrel), scope, mounts, mod and a sling. Used Dad's cz classic for years so knew i liked the brand, this one is superb, you can knock nails in with it at 70 yards. Can't recommend them highly enough, buy a new cz and you won't be disappointed.

The guys on hpoc will give you a complete and honest answer, hilux are the most robust of all the double cabs but it depends what you want, ive had mitsubishi's, fords and now a hilux. All have their faults and advantages, for me personally it's a hilux but it's hard to find one that hasn't had the shit kicked out of it. Mitsubishi come a close second.

Just a small note to say a massive thankyou to Stuart aka Caprelous for taking the time to let me wander round some of his permissions in the scottish borders in search of my first Roe. Unfortunately, my luck wasn't in over 6 stalks but i saw deer on every stalk, however, some i bumped in my inexperience (looking the wrong way or generally too fast) a couple couldn't be sexed and a couple didn't have sufficient backstop. Stalking roe in spruce plantation is a world away from my normal fallow in deciduous woodland/ arable farmland! i learned alot and have luckily been invited back. Stua

whereabouts in kent are you mate?

I would stay clear of the pajeros and the petrol ones. The 2.8 diesel are the ones to get so i'm told, never owned one myself but been in a few and they are good offroad, bit heavy on the juice but what decent 4x4 isn't? I would say rot and black smoke are the things to look for, plus check coolant and pressure when hot as i believe they could suffer from head gaskets (not as bad as the ford ranger trucks though). Chap on our shoot had a long wheel base one that he took a little over 300,000 miles. Smoked like heck by the end but she still went. Some good finds to be had if you manage to get o

Best scope for a .22 rimfire
bert69 replied to Carlowhunter's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
i got a nikko stirling 3-9x50 on mine and it does the job admirably, i think it was about quid, you don't need an expensive scope on a rimfire as there is no recoil to kill it. Also had Hawke on air rifles (pcp) and they performed well too. Go for a reputable budget one rather than the cheapest of the cheap.
