  1. Our whippet x collie bitch has disappeared out of the garden along with our male patterdale terrier. Happened this morning (13th June) in Leeds area. Gate was open so i think they were stolen or purposely let out. Anyone see's the dogs or hears of anybody with them, i would be very grateful if you'd get in touch so i can go break there legs... http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/gunsmilie.gif Gina
  2. sweet and sour rabbit

  3. I wouldn't if u left the guts in  When u dispatch the bunny in the field you should rub your hand down its belly and all the urine will come out. The purpose of hanging is to tenderise the meat not to let the fleas disperse lol, my other half guts and skins the bunnys then soaks them in salty water then bangs them straight in the freezer or even the pot. The weathers a bit on the warm side for hanging aswell its best done once the temperatures below 5 degrees celsius, like being in the fridge!
  4. This is my other halfs 1st lurcher, she looks like a poor sod but thats because she's 17 years old now. She's a whippet x bull and hardly ever moves from that rug, she's going blind and deaf but we love her all the same and she was the best of the best in her hunting days. He got her as a pup when he was 11, he's now 28 and we only retired her last season due to ill health. She once accidentally chased a fox through a barbed wire fence a ripped her chest completely open from between her front legs right to her stomach, my other half had to tie her up with his jumper to get her to the vet. She

  7. i went but only stayed while 3 cos of the damn rain & we didn't take the kids coats There was a good turnout plenty of nice dogs there. I took our blue collie whippet and stuck her in the lurcher bitch & coursing lurcher shows, she didn't win but its the taking part that counts and lets face it our dogs aren't bred for beauty contests its what they do on the quarry that counts I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't any lure coursing so we could of seen the dogs in action. Did anything else happen apart from the show like the digging competion or tug of war?
  8. This is a really easy stew to make you can buy the sugar & a tub of bay leaves at asda and get a small parsley plant while your there and once you have them they last pretty much forever. I haven't made this since last year and i still have the parsley growing on my kitchen window sill and a big box of muscavado sugar in the pantry alongside my tub of bay leaves and oxo's. 2 Rabbits 3-4tbsp sunflower oil 4 red onions, peeled and cut into wedges 2tsp light muscovado sugar 2 carrots, finely chopped 2 sticks celery, finely chopped 330ml bottle Guinness 200ml beef stock made
  9. I'm gonna give that a try once the weather gets colder, i hate that chewy membrane. When i make a stew i try and make sure non gets in the pot but a little bit usually slys in and it puts me right off eeeeew! Personally i've never gutted a rabbit i leave that to my other half, i watched him do one and i fainted (think it was the smell that got to me pmsl. So when you hang em do you leave the skin and head on and just remove the guts???
  10. who said that??? What about the people behing the camera getting done for aggrivated trespass or public order after all there on camera too being violent and swearing as well as manhandling other peoples posessions. It wouldn't go down well in a pub if you started throwing somebodys drink about because you didn't agree with drinking and its the same principle and i'm afraid if you swore like they were in front of the police you'd be spending a long night in the cells!
  11. There are plenty of rabbits out there but seems no-ones willin to let us lamp em. I've got plenty of permission for ferreting & shooting and i had to get rid of my terriers because nobody wants them on their land near me. Its a pain in the ass tryin to find farmers that'll let dogs on their land!
  12. Thats a good idea i never thought of that one, theres loads of golf courses near me aswell. It'd be the best option on there cos its too near the main road for shooting and they won't want ferrets on cos of the digging
  13. I've got permission in the yorkshire dales with a few farmers and a few in wetherby and 1 at pontefract but they won't let dogs on because of bleedin sheep and horses. We went round loads of farms last season but no luck. I even asked the farmers i've got permission with to ask there farmer buddys for me but not heard owt! Up in the dales he lets us go on with shotguns and air guns i don't no what everyones beef is with the dogs I wonder if there confused about the law? It doesn't help when idiots are runnin the fields in scoobys and destroying there land
  14. My patience wouldn't of lasted long [bANNED TEXT] her the gob shite i'd of had to put me ferret in her bloomers and hung her from a tree [bANNED TEXT] me purse nets :realmad:
  15. good on yer i've stuck a comment on!
  16. I used to think like that woman, i've been with my other half 6 years and for the 1st 3 i totally disagreed with hunting. I thought how can he go out and kill a poor rabbit [bANNED TEXT] its just in its hole mindin its own business, i wouldn't even eat rabbit although i did cook it for him But then i watched kill it cook it eat it and saw for myself the way it was done and learnt a bit of rabbit history, like when they wiped out our food supply and mitsi was introduced to fight back. Not sure but think that was the seventys and now theres still rabbits sufferin and dyin an horrible death fr
  17. Can anyone help me find some lamping permission in Yorkshire. I have plenty of permission for ferritin but no one seems to want me lampin I only managed to get out a handful of times last season with the lamp without permission then i was caught by a rather annoyed farmer. He's got laser censors on all his fields the git, i wouldn't mind the dog had just caught a rabbit and he took it off us :realmad: and said he'd shoot me dog if he caught us again! I don't wanna pinch anyone elses pitch but could do with a point in the right direction if anyone knows of anywhere that needs a few bunnys
  18. I bought one of these off ebay and its absolutely shite i got me money back for it because there is no way you can use it as a ferret finder. It was listed as a ferret finder then when it cam it said on the box that it was a key finder, thought i'd give it a bash anyway and its absolutely useless for the followind reasons. 1 - completely inaccurate, 2 - the locator tag bleeped constantly which was really annoying and prob freaked the ferret out as well as any rabbits. 3 - anything electrical send it haywall. Don't buy one stick to the debens in my opinion!
  19. he looks like a naughty dog lol, he's just got that guilty wasn't me look on his face!
