Who in their right mind would come onto a fellow country sports forum and bitch about their sport?!? Feral pigeons yea easy as he'll to get close to woodys?!? Not at all anyone who shoots them with a shotty would know that as bringing them in is hard if your not covered. I think anti comes to mind here....

Heads up to people shooting pigeons in Cambridge, the pigeons seem to be heading to their sitty trees at around 3:30. It's not just the stalking that's hard. The actual shot is. As it is up in a tree at an unkown distance you can't just aim directly at it sometimes you need hold over or under and a mill or so to the side depending on wind. I will try the pen idea however. thanks
-
Well you can only really make a mistake once and the lad did ask. Can't argue with his top notch shooting.

Nice shooting mate is your gun FAC? Had 5 hen pheasants in the garden today had to withhold my self as pheasant season has closed I think and I got told off last year for shooting one out of season woops. Sounds like a great day though well done.

Gas Ram for Lightning XL??
air gunner replied to johnboy19's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Yep I have one in my supersport i think they are roughly the same gun anyway I think they are great! Different recoil that is easier to controll plop a decent silencer on and the sound is pretty decent. I think donnyc was selling one for an XL on the sale section for a great price... Also great guy to deal with. -
bloomin trigger what can be done?
air gunner replied to air gunner's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Good plan next time that will have to happen in the mean time I think I have fixed it. I have polished the engaging points and have applied moly paste the gun ha bow done 10 cycles very smoothly so fingers crossed. -
with a good piston and spring polish you might be able to turn it around? i havent got one but do have a springer and after a bit of practice and some fine tuning it performed much better. it now has a gas ram and is far better. however my gun is rendered useless because of the darn trigger.
-
right so recently i have had trigger problems on my bsa supersport gas ram. it started of with the gun being cocked but then not shooting luckily it could be uncocked. Now however it has got to the stage where it wont uncock or even fire so it has to be dismantled and released (very sketchy) the annoying thing is i have taken the whole trigger apart de greased and re greased as suggested and the gun will work for about 4-5 shots then stop working again. i have removed the trigger for the 5th time and cant seem to find any areas of wear. what could the problem be? this is really annoying as the

Yep it was going so well but they are 200 ahead now post on more forums I have done so on two of mine and it's been a big hit.

Done put on one other forum and put my tick in.

It may not but the weight of a lamp will effect how the gun recoils will it not? Springers are hold sensitive and a different weight will cause the gun to recoil in a different direction. However that is all theory so I may have to give a cheap eBay scope mounted lamp a try. Cheers

Cheers mate I want a head torch because a scope mounted torch will affect my zero which causes all sorts of problems. I think i have an LED lenser around somewhere maybe a battery change will make it better. Cheers
-
Hi anyone know of what head torches are good for lamping with my gas ram air rifle it needs to be cheap as I am building a dh bike cheers lads

From behind u can drop them threw the spine but if you can head shot close range heart shots do the trick.

Help from all you air gun smiths.
air gunner replied to air gunner's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Ok completely removed trigger mechanism and cleaned with wd40 as advised lubes all contact areas with silicone grease when I get home later I will test to see if it works better. Last question is the pins holding it together seem loose what can I do to combat this? Cheers sean. -
Hi I have a BSA supersport air rifle and recently the trigger has not been working. What happens is I cock the rifle and everything clicks sometimes when the trigger is pulled the pellet is released other times however I can just squeeze the trigger and nothing happens so I have to un cock the gun. Would carefully polishing each part of the mechanism help and what lube should I use on it? I think i found the problem where the actual part of the mechanism that enter the chamber is getting stiff against a trigger spring and so cannot move.

It's rediculouse. If they ban air rifles then iresponsible owners won't bat an eyelid that's what makes them iresponsible not only that but more iresponsible people will want them and use them for idiotic reasons because they are illegal and easily accesable seeing as people have old ones tucked away.

The wasps themselves would be a great target! Not sure they are legal quarry though. However they are a pest. Some of you better shooters could try and shoot their stingers off.
-
Ahhh yes a good few slices of cheese on toast with chutney... Um ummm although bunny burgers would be more satisfying dam it. I found on the Internet some target shooting games they are fun but nothing compared to shooting toy soldiers cans and anything that makes a noise or getS obliterated. Also bolts hanging down like someone on here suggested are quite good.
-
Sorry stealthy mate I really am a plonker!! Yea you were half there instead it was macaroni cheese but bugger me once I sort my gun out tuesday or Wednesday morning it will be rabbit stew for the whole village. Unless of course I can't hit squat again.
-
Lol yea!! I wouldent normally miss by the way this was an exceptionaly bad occasion and my trigger worked sometimes and not on others. Also my target shooting if fine from 15-50 yards I need more field practice with range estimateing etc but as you guys say a LOT of practice wouldent go a miss.

Shameful double post sorry.

By you I dident understand your comment sorry. I feel like an idiot
