    you too lads are getting carried away i now for a fact owen is not even on here never mind 3 or 4 diffrent names hes driving every day and he goes to donegal too or three times a week to see his brother and works weekends so where would he get the time

    was away for a while thought i might re start this if their is any interest. i hear the irish comp could be back on next year if everthing went to plan so maybe it will settle alot of the irish argument for once and for all

    i have had a lot of coursing dogs over the last 30 years i think bitches peak a bit sooner than dogs maybe 4 years as a lot of people have said for a dog but i think bitches peak eariler maybe 3 years old i think bitches also seem to go of sooner maybe not all but in general a six year old bitch is finished in my opinon i know people may disagree but its only what i have found

    i have not called anyone on this site have not ran anyones dogs down just came on to say some of what i know about some of kings dogs how good or bad their are is a matter of opinion ive seem some good ones and some not so good come from king and a lot more places as well i would not be that fond of the man however i do know maybe more about coursing than you think been to england scotland and wales coursing preban and seen a lot of the top dogs over their and over here and well able to form my own opinion maybe you could name a dog or a man you would fovour and every one would know where you

    have left this for a few days but i feel i have to add one more comment the sligo express was not irish ladys sister their fathers were brothers and their mothers were sisters .just like to menton some of the other dogs p king breed . liverpool lue owned by b goulding shamrock p noone bolton bullet c whyte white bitch with a black spot also c whyte said she killed 6 from 6 one day pre ban he also sold dogs to packer b willot some of the gaskans most of j kellys dogs also come from king some of which he won the irish com in england for 3 years running with preban i think j kelly also won 3 or 4

    to shot gun willy,the dog with three legs is called bertie,grandfather to irish lady and cathys bitch. these two bitches were breed much the same however they were not sisters.to say that most lurchers in ireland are related to these two is mabe true,however i think you must look further back,having hunted with some of there parents and grandparents these dogs were every bit as good and maybe better.Cathys bitch was never hunted as she was stole as a small pup from kings yard and he only got her back four years later.The reason some of these older dogs never got as much recognition in my opini

    owen was the man who went to england and ran nuthall was beten 3 -1 but as far as i know no other irish man tried to go and take on one of the top men in coursing ever in his own back yard. he also ran the first irish compation ever to be ran in england which invited 16 men to go north and south of the border one of which was p sweeney but unfortunatley he could not go i think this com went on for 4 years preban i also think that nuthall and owen are still friends and he may have a diffrent story to tell about the dog owen ran that day

    sorry if i offended anybody with any of my coments had a drink with owen last night he was not impressed with some of the comments i told him were made said he first met king in the early eighties any questions about any of his or kings dogs he will be happy to answer

    i am aware that other people are trying to find out where some of these dogs came from and where they went so i am not going to get in to a slagging match just to say that b goulding bought a cream couloured dog of owens brotherinlaw whitch went on to win one of w toughs competions this dog was breed from the sister of irish lady the man that sold him was j callaghan their are still some of these dogs to be had today but for some reason they dont seem to come up for sale to often i think both j goulding and j callaghan have since gave up hunting

    back to what i said about the handler irish ladies sister was a better all round bitch than irish lady 3 different men owned her in belfast geared o halorin kevin mckenny and paul daley none of which achieved the results that owen o mahony did with her!. , .as regards the dog that muky paws refers to this dog on hes first visit to england killed his first hare ran his next hare for 6 mins and 40secs then collapsed can been seen on dvd on his second visit killed his first to from to if this is jackey i am a flying pink elephant ...on his 3rd hare ran her for 3 mins and she escaped into a pile o

    just to clear this up owen o mahony owned irish ladys mother and her mothers sister bought them from king gave her back to king and he but a dog called rusty on her rusty was off old rocky and silky owen got back 2 pups one of whitch he sold to chalkie whyte from manchester this was irish lady the other he sold to belfast the sister of irish ladys mother he breed with rustys brother this resulted in the sligo express a far better bitch killed over 60 single handed in one season both in ireland and england preban

    p king would have sold a lot of dogs to england mostly around cambridge manchester and some to the north east their was a dog runing in england preban called lucky reputed to be one of the best ever owned by marcus parish this dog is still to be had and has produced some good pups no conection to king he sold a lot of dogs to the traveling lads both in england and ireland and maybe the reason for the longford thing is he often sold a job lot to a chap their called martin neavin some may have been retired and others would not have made the grade but i have no dought some may have come good

    tough guy may be you are older and wiser than me as is mr king but older is not always better would you think that todays football or soccer is more advanced than 20 years ago kings dogs have changed both in breed and handlers over the years i have hunted with him more times than i care to rember however i have never seen him run a dog as i would or sell one that attracted as mutch comment as some i and others have sold on all be it they were reared in kings some of whitch have been mentioned some pages pack double is not the way to go something that king and his hunting mates dont seem to ha

    as i have come to this topic late and seem to have the best knowledge of mr kings yard i feel i must add a futher coment rambo was not a full wheaten but irish ardle kerry blue and wheaten all mixed however he had a wheaten called ted the reason king dose not need to advertise is he has been very lucky to sell some of his dogs to very good handlers and as any dog man knows no matter how well bread or well reared a dog is in the wrong hands his or her hunting life will be short lived and as i have found when you do sell one on to england or else where in ireland and say where it came from by wa

    on the subject of p king he is selling dogs to england for over 20 years he sells around 50 dogs a year betwen ireland and england at the moment he has about 75 dogs at the house all are for sale

    as i have known mr king since 1988 and hunted with him a lot of that time i can tell anyone wondering he is still hunting and still has some irish terrier in his dogs
