Snow on the ground a few weeks ago ,driving to the woods to get ready for the roost shooting noticed a discovery spinning round the fields letting dogs out & coursing the hares( true sports men ) they set off & left a lurcher in the field with a dead hare ,when we caught up with them (on the travelers site near the estate) motor still running doors open & no one their,couple of young lads came out saying it had been dumped? told them to go & collect the dog in the field .(what can you do with theese people?) .Now ive been asked to go out & shoot as many hares as possible ro
  2. IF you start your terrier of when its young by letting it shake a golly wog toy it may make a good coon dog,Better with a 1st cross bull greyhound you can let them have a head start before loosing the hounds?
  3. once had a albino coon in my school class, we chased him round the play grounds , that coon took some catching

  10. lez the geese are feeding on a crop ,it belongs to howard jagger & lee jager , if youre in the methley area call into the farm shop & ask them if you can have a go at the geese , He usually fires a rocket up to scare them off ,He may let you have a go at them.

  13. Shot the pond fed on mellons,got 9 mallard & 6 teal ,plenty of ducks coming in ,shot like a c***. Tried wheat coverd in aniseed last year in a pond it worked well,
  14. ive got 7 flight ponds on the go, the biggest is about 1.5 acre & the others are roughly from 30ft onwards, all the ponds are at the side of rivers (tidel) + the cow fields flood [bANNED TEXT] the rivers burst their banks, ive dug a pond about 1 acre but as yet river asnot come over .
  15. not knocking u , ive taken lads out and theyve shot at every duck thats come in ,i dont knock any one who shoots large numbers , sorry if it sounded that way.

Shot a pond last saturday what was fed on barley & oats ,shot 10 mallard about 60 + ducks came in i dont shoot big numbers i try and go for the ducks what are a challanging shot ,Years ago i shot 88 mallard on a pond then thought afterwards what am i going to do with theese ducks ? The freezer is full already . The teal have just started showing at a few ponds , i put a couple of ton of sugar beet what the frost got to last year in one of the ponds the teal seem to like that,

Just wondering what food people are putting in their flight ponds & what number of ducks their getting , ive tried the usuall barley & oats in a couple of ponds & i am trying mellons & rotten fruit in 2 other ponds ,shooting the first pond this saturday whats filled with the rotten fruit, watched around 30+ ducks droppping in through the week .What are you using ?

  19. SLOOP INN at temple hirst , 5 mins from selby , caravans 7.50 with electric huck up , tents a few quid , good food n ale , landlords a shooting man if u like shooting he usually puts a clay shoot on for the campers , good crack .

GOOD news to rural watch members ; as a result of a call made to north yorkshire police ,4 males from the west yorkshire area were arrested under section 1 of the hunting act . in the selby area on 29 jan friday night. the police in this area are clamping down on the 4x4 lampers .( if the lads walked the fields people may turn a blind eye .but the damage they cause with the 4x4 is stupid ) get faster dogs and stop fxxxking it up for the rest of us)?

The local police are clamping down in the selby area, A locall farmer showed me a text message : GOOD NEWS, at approx 16:00 hrs on monday 10 th jan a report of 5 males with dogs in the hillam area resulted in the arrest of one male for poaching offences,a dog & vehicle were also seized. Also in the early hours on the 13 th jan lampers in the chapel haddlesey area resulted in 4 males arrested for poaching & drugs offences, again vehicle & dogs were also seized .   25. hes out of a charlie x dog to a charlie x bitch and hes only nine mounths old only time will tell if he will make it but i have high hopes for him a.t.b.brog had a few double bred dogs out off the charlie line , most made the grade , some started as flying machines ,they seem a lot better for a out cross , enter em sensibley dont over face him , hope he works out for u a.t.b ,
