just wondering if anybody off here had gone to the horse fair in peterborough think its held at the football club on new years eve or day . might not even be a yearly fair and just may of been a one off . Would be nice to know if it was on ? .

Apart from the rest of the deben range theirs nothing else to compare it too maybe the terrier men prefer bellman & flint locators although lots seem to like the mk1 for ferreting

Think Ill stick with the normal collars for now seems quite an expense for something that hasnt really progressed that much . Maybe we will get some better reviews

The river severn local to me is a big place for elvering its were gordon ramsay fished for them . The bloke that he fished with was also the owner/son of the local fish wholesalers which is positioned practically right on the banks of the severn they buy up all the elvers to be exported . Have never been myself but a relative of mine goes . I think you have to get a special licence and Iam sure they dont hand them out willy nilly like they used too . Was only talking about this at work the other day the kid saying that the camping supplies store that he used to work at used to sell the elverm

The fairs just the thurs but people usually turn up a couple of days before . for directions just head for stow town centre you cant really go wrong once you get to their . you can park in the field itself or park on the other side of town which we tend to, its usually to much hassle getting onto and off the field see you their . Glad this came up have been to the scrap yard today . thought id take advantage of the high price . alu was paying 650 steel was 110 which seemed a bit disapointing after all the media hype about the high prices . Best was the 5 old door handles which I got £4.90 for . something for nothing great ! have got some cable to take in next have stripped some of it down . but still have a bit to go anybody else do this and whats the bets way to strip it down

WHERE IS IT MATE ballinasloe is the biggest horse fair in ireland . on the same level as appleby . havent been myself but would like too .

I think stow will probally be on the 23rd of october (thurs) will find out for sure though . ill be going myself for the day as its not far from me

Stow was very wet I went for a couple of hours seen a bit of trade but the rain spoilt it really. Will be coming up to appleby on fri and staying till mon just fingers crossed with the weather

yes . the train station is right in town, 5 min walk up to the hill where all the action is. sat and sun good days it will be packed cheers for that glad I havnt got to do anymore traveling sat/sun will be my main days their so thats great its costing £104 each for me and the mrs to get from glos to carlisle and where encouraged to use public transport

Im going up for the weekend staying in carlisle and catching the train down to appleby each day . Looked to stay closer maybe penrith but to get the train to appleby you had to go from penrith to carlisle first then back down to appleby which was about a two hour round trip . Will be my first time which are the best days ? coming back on the monday so ill miss the trotting on the tues . Do they have a main day for the trading or is it pretty much non stop . Does any body know the area is the train station central to where all the going on is . I ve got a four hour trip friday morning from glo

I had two jills done about 7/8 years ago and i am sure I payed around £30 for the two then so £3.50 cracking seems as how much vets charge these days

do you fish the wye and severn for elvers a relation of mine does some on the severn around the glos area dont you have to have a licence to fish for them now and are they quite limited (licences)
