  1. I've had a 50mm Simmons on my CZ. With high mounts it was close to touching, useing a Sak I never noticed it. I'm about to a 42mm scope with low mounts & again the scope will just clear the barrel. I'm not expecting any problems.
  2. They moved from Hindlip to Malvern. That might slow them down. Not long ago 6 months was quick but just a few months before the move it was down to a couple of weeks. Sit tight, they'll sort you out soon.
  3. Shared guns are common. Don't forget sound moderator as well !!!
  4. For daylight I much prefer first light. S200, nice gun, my first PCP was a S200, loved it.
  5. Take it ferreting, gets them used to chaseing rabbits, when you wave the lamp it hasn't go a clue. My Spaniel learnt from an experianced Lurcher, even my mates Alsation picked it up. My Spaniel even caught one by being in the right place when a rabbit turned in front of him. Pure luck I know but I made sure my Lurcher owning friend didn't hear the last of it. Just needs time & for them to find out what a rabbit is.
  6. Breat it & give the rest to your ferrets. I've only had one, bit chewy so the dog ended up haveing it. From what I've heard young ones are tender compared.
  7. Short answer is no you don't need one but a good one can make a difference.
  8. If your in luck your permission will have a sitty tree, maybe many areas of either trees, bushes, building. Over time you'll learn where the hot spots are, unfortunately they may, read will, move through the seasons. I regularly walk the dog over my shoots & note where I see things through the seasons as well as when I'm shooting. I don't use the same hot spot either, once in a while, useing different hot spots for each visit. Carry a small pocket bino, if I pick the wrong spot I just move, or even just watch movement & learn.
  9. Some people are just like that. Like another post, leave only your footprints. Nothing goes to waste, if I don't eat it the dog & cats do. If not my mate has whatever for his ferrets.
  10. From what I've read .22lr & HMR will kill a fox. From what I've seen HMR is not really upto it. I have Fox with HMR but not .22lr on my ticket. The one fox I've seen shot with an HMR gave me the decsion not to try it. C/F on renewal might change my Fox shooting experiances. It matters not if it will do the job for experianced shooters. If the question is asked by someone wanting to go out shooting fox I'd say go C/F. If the question is for close range dispatch then ask someone who does it often, not once in a while.
  11. Philipeano WTC 6.5-20x50 on the HMR. PrairieMaster 6-24x50 (nildot) is worth consudering.
  12. My old ones are "hunting" cart's. I wouldn't say valuable but a collector might be interested.
  13. Loads of silencers here (link below) Done on air rifles & now .22lr, as the titles say HMR assume that's next ? http://www.youtube.com/user/gunvidder
  14. There are plenty of these old Eley's about. Can't be 100% from the picture, paper or plastic ?
  15. Same dilema when I applied for my FAC. I went for a CZ 452 in the end, had the barrel shortened, a timney trigger & a good Philipeano Simmons scope with BKL's, changed the scope to an MTC but now have got a Falcon to go on. I also now have a HMR, went for a CZ & got a trigger Kit. On top is a good Philipeano Simmons on BKL's. Think good scope then what rifle.
  16. Common problem being tight in bolt CZ's. Should group OK though.
  17. You might find fragments but if head shot what's the problem ? If chest shots just eat the saddle area.
  18. I've often heard of pellets stuck up the barrel in air rifles. No real problem just hard work sometimes to clear the blockage. With firearms It's different. A round or wad stuck in the barrel is dangerous. If you hear a quiet pop, louder than normal bang or just some strange noise It's worth checking out before you fire the next round. No damage this time.
  19. Parker Hale silencer. UNF Virtually as new, very clean. Long term stored so not mint. No rod but boxed with original leaflet. £25 posted insured. Bank transfer, cheque or P/O. Not proofed & sold as an air rifle silencer. Air use. Rimfire use.
  20. Went out with someone last year, they just started pigeon shooting & had bought some of these deeks. I wern't impressed, I'll stick to my collection of tatty shells & flexicoys.
  21. My std .22 trigger was fine but the side plate snapped (long story) Uptill then I was quite happy with it. Replaced it with a Timney, wow, touch & go compared. I now have a HMR & the trigger is most definatly how much more pressure do I need ? & I find I'm thinking about how heavy the trigger is rather than about the target. I'll add no creep to moan about just either heavy or stiff so I'm expecting it to improve with use. I've got a YoDave kit to fit, if that's no better I'll get another Timney. For those that are thinking about trigger mods. PART ONE PART T
