  1. Went to my new permission last night, i had only been there in the day to have a quick look, but when i got there last night, it looked like the main field was actually moving! The whole place is infested with the big eared carrot crunching critters I set to work with the S200 and managed to bag seven before i had to leave to go to work. So pretty chuffed with myself. There are that many that i think i'm going to take the dogs next time and let them run riot whilst i pop away with the faithful AA. Chuffed i was. Soz no pics, left my mobile in the car

  3. My dogs get walked in the morning for a mile, then in the evening they let rip in the field (No quarry to catch in there) they run and play for around an hour whilst i sit and have a fag. Then it's back to the kennels for a feed and a drink, then an hour on the sofa having some fuss and playfighting. Then back into the kennels for the night. The dogs walk into the kennels by their own, and see it as a happy place, so they are quite content. As for working, my 2 main dogs are out on the lamp once a week for a couple of hours at a time. My main bitch is now expecting her first litter so
  4. Cheers chaps, i thought so. I need to be more sneaky and do some more lurking. I did notice when they get spooked they went back into the hedgerow, and came back out around 15/20 mins later sticking their fingers up at me What's the best time for daylight shooting? Is it the crack of dawn, say around 4-5AM ish would you say? I'm going to give the day shooting a few more chances with some more proper & sneaky lurking. If that fails i'll put the longnets out and put Fergie (my ace Jill) into action. I did manage to smack a squirrel, the little critter moved as i took t
  5. Hi Chaps I have a large Permission approx 72 acres that i look after. I have lots of success during the night with my whippets on the lamp and my airgun with lamp. However i tried a day shoot, i coudn't get close to them, they just keep scarpering back off into the woods. The whole area is open fields with hedgrows all around (this is where bunny lives in abundance) where should i be during daylight and at what times so i can pop a few off with the gun? PS i use an Airrms S200 1.77. During the night they just freeze and i can walk around at will popping away, but they are

  7. Hi all I'm new to this site, looks pretty good. I run whippets and work JRT & west highlands (the small westie bitch is awesome) Also have two good ferrets who work regularly. My wife and i breed all of the above and our whippets are pure bred and love running. My bitch is due in a couple of months, so i may keep one back for some more work. So hi to you all. Jusar
