I saw a dead cat on the road once, had been knocked rather than squashed, was going to feed it to my ferrets but I thought if any of my neighbours saw its head lying on the hutch floor it would be tricky to explain! In answer to the original question, in one of my books, which name escapes me but its by val porter and someone brown I think... It has a section on polecats diet in the wild, and they get through a bit of fish In the form of eels mostly I believe, but it still fish. And my mate feeds his ferrets fish occasionally, apparently they love them

Mayweather is a great boxer, watched a couple of his recent fights. BUT, he is no match for Hatton. Like someone else has said Hatton expects a battle and mayweather is gunna get a shock. Hatton to win

Haha the ending is far fetched as anything!!! But I reckon thats the whole point of the film to be honest, total tongue in cheek yet still a gory as anything scary(ish) zombie film!
-
I like some zombie films yea. I was an extra in one once, didnt need much makeup Nah but seriously, I was, its still in production though, and I was a rescue soldier rather than a zombie... Favourite zombie film though has to be planet terror, part of the grindhouse films, directed by robert rodriguez and not out in the uk yet but seriously its an amazing film, really dark humour etc.

The deliberate spread of myxi is illegal. If they are openly admitting to spreading it then they are on very thin ice. f****n b*****ds for doing such a thing anyway. Altho it isnt the first time Ive heard of drastic measures to stop people poaching. I know someone who shot about half a dozen hares in one field and left them there for the crows so that folk didny run there dogs there.

I totally agree, I skin pheasants and partridges but would never skin a duck

Absolute classic!!

As someone has already said, theres already far too much restriction and beurocracy in this shithole country. Would you feel happy if you lost your job and couldnt afford to keep your dog due to the government essentially taxing you to keep him? Its just another thing that would go up in price every year but the money not get spent on anything thats of use to the people paying it.

Really sorry to hear of your loss woodman

Good shooting there mate, a good mixed bag. Luckily we dont get many greys round me, the reds are still around because its mostly pine forests round here where the reds do better than the greys. But on the other hand if there were more greys about Id have more of the buggers to shoot at !! lol Cheers

About a month ago me and my mate got 6 in a stop end. Couldnt fecking believe it! As I was breaking through the top one burst out through the loose soil and got away. So we thought wed lost the only rabbit in the stop, but low and behold the ferret had a hold of one, and there was a further 4 blocked up behind that! So we got 5 out of the 6 that were in the stop. It was only a tiny wee 4 hole warren as well, and there was 2 other rabbits in it that bolted, one of them bolted as we were just setting up the nets must have smelled ferrets off the nets I reckon. Up until that point I

Nice to see the ferret I gave you doing the business mate. Thats a gorgeous looking lurcher as well and she did well for her first trip. Keep at em!

Thanks guys, I have just spent about 2 hours (although some of that was just chatting!) at a good mates with 3 decades of shooting under his belt trying to help me out. The gun is 14 inches from trigger to butt. And Im 6 foot. However my mate got me to do that test with the forearm and the grip felt really natural with a little pressure on the bicep. Maybe my arms are too big :showoff: Anyway the gun feels ok apart from battering my cheek bone all the time. Therefore Im inclined to say its a poor stock design of some description. Unless its just my mount. When theres no-one in

Good post. Brings up a few scary things I will agree. However I will still continue to feed my ferrets rats albeit reptile shop bought or ones bred by me from now on. Feckin expensive but the ferts love em.

Ok I was out with my new (second hand) shotgun for the second time on saturday. Anyway I fired 3 boxes of cartridges (I was clay shooting) and very quickly (like within a few shots) it became apparent that the stock was hitting my cheekbone quite hard, to the point that I still have a bruise today. Im pretty sure I was holding the gun ok, as I asked my mate to watch me shoot, also I was hitting the targets ok (half of the time ). The only problem was the stock hitting my cheekbone. Can this sort of thing be resolved by getting maybe a 1/2" or 1" recoil pad? Or would this change the

Well Ill take your point but can ferrets catch weils disease? Genuine question? And if you take plenty of precautions you shouldnt catch it. Look all Im saying is I know of rats being fed to ferrets with no ill effect. Thats why I said no problem. However the point you make about the danger to oneself is an interesting one that I suppose I hadnt considered.
-
Not a problem, just make sure the rats aint been near any sewage or poison. If your confident that they are healthy and clean then go for it. Ive got "pet" rats in the shed as we speak when the babies get old enough they will get chapped on the head and fed to the ferrets. They do really good on them Ive heard

Well done lads you've got heaps of rabbits there! Good action shots too .
-
Good advice there richie. ferreting to guns is well good craic like but always be safe. Always remember that its only a fecking rabbit and no need to take a risky shot at ever. Good luck

Mine took 3 weeks exactly, from handing in the forms at the polic station to the certificate arriving through my letterbox.

Bollox it doesnt drip! Ive got one in my rat cage exactly like that only its held on by suction pads (although it came with the screwy on thing too). Filled it up last night only to watch it all drip away within a matter of minutes. Seriously. As soon as a little bit of dirt or dust off the animals mouth touches the metal dispenser it chokes it up causing a drip. Had nout but problems with it. Be warned
