  1. Aye............... I suppose it looks ok..... If your into that plodder type of coursing
  2. Hey, I like a good arguement like the next guy But if you actually read back this thread, your the one who is trying to argue mate. I miss read (which I don't think I did) a section of your post and your still having wee digs at it. Ohhh well, what ever floats your boat ma man....... Pssssst, I know you think you know it all cos you've errr done it all but I'm afraid you don't but hey ho.....
  3. Wonder if there is someone on here I've not been.......
  4. The reason why a lurcher will take out a pheasant but not a chicken etc is simply down to perception and re-occurence. The dog is trained by doing the same things day in day out, its called repetitive training. It walks past the chickens at the farm on its way out to the field everytime it goes out. It knows these aren't prey because at some point in its puppy life it was trained not to chase them. Now, when its out in the "hunting" fields it knows there aren't any chickens out here but chaseable things like pheasant etc. Now, if a brown chicken had to be way out in the fields and bolted from
  5. LOL ok mate. I know the answer btw Want me to share my wisdom with you lol?
  6. yes Yipp, we know. Like i said, i am not looking for answers, there are many things which build the hunters prey drive.. Just fasinates me... So tell me, whats the difference in the scent of a hen or a phesant. I am not asking you literally, just saying, it is very hard to distiguish... If you aren't looking for answers exactly what are you looking for? You wanting us all to sit back and admire the thread without input?..... Well done on posting this..... I'll ponder on it for a lifetime and a half.....
  7. No probs, just never understood your post mate. you didnt understand this post...... its the most simple thing to read but never mind.. alb.. Are you trying to ruin your own thread? You said your dogs stare at lambs bleating then a frisky roll over and never another glance. now, from that I'd say since your talking about the lambs at the time, it would be the natural assumption you are talking about the dog rolling over the lambs. At no point would I have thought you were saying your dogs look at lambs and then fancy a roll in long grass but hey ho.....
  8. No probs, just never understood your post mate.
  9. What you mean a frisky roll over with the lambs mate? Your dog would get shot up here for less lol.
  10. every time you open your idiotic mouth brick excrement and lies shoot forth im afraid fool its you thats priceless or should i have said useless Away and get a snickers BA and chill...........
  11. I 100% agree with this post. I think 6 weeks is too early for a pup, 7 weeks is borderline and 8 weeks perfect. If people breed for money then the sooner the better, and the new owner ends up with all the problems. A new pup should be treated like a human baby, given love, warmth and comfort. If you think the constant crying is a problem for you think about what the poor pup is going through. Cut the guy slack, he asked a question that he probably knew the answer but wanted to start a topic and stroke all your egos...... Looks like he succeeded. Cut the guy some slack?

  18. I'll put it this way...... If you had a daughter what would you think would be the chances of her kids turning out clever if she married the local bin man compared to a lawyer? Same with everything really..... Nature wants only the best to mate for a reason.... Its only us humans that allow any arsehole to start a family.

  23. Dogs a dog is a dog is a dog........... How is your kids with dogs? See what I mean mate? All different. Most lurchers are fine but if any dog is laying down and a kid comes over and stands on his knackers, he'll react. I'd never trust any dog alone with a kid, mostly because kids are unpredictable lol. very true bud. my lads sound hes only 4 but loves the terrier. what works i just ment in genral I'd trust a lurcher before I'd trust a terrier mate, if that helps.
