  1. I dunno about you but I like to know what's in my dogs. Plenty of racy looking mongrels kicking about... If your going to keep every pup off the litter then hey ho but who's gonna take the dross?
  2. Bad crack that. I'm even reluctant to go to poaching land that someone showed me without asking if it was ok. It's an unwritten law that you don't do that and everyone knows the score. Just cause you showed this clown your ground don't mean that its his permission now too. Don't let on to him that you know he has done it but have a conversation with him that the ground you took him on, the farmer was telling you he was having trouble with poachers, he's got their reg plate and has a crew ready for their return to see if the f****r owns up.
  3. i have seen 1 ginger rabbit, the dogs just stared at it for a minute before it clicked but it shot off like a rocket and im sure it was a bit bigger than usual, cheers gav LOL, sounds like the wererabbit from wallace and gromit......
  4. someone dont know what they talking about i had collie greyhounds stand at 26 so why ya saying that about the deehound Just out of interest, why would you want such a big dog for lamping i hope, rabbits? I take it your saying I don't know what I'm talking about daz you fanny? Firstly thicko, I never once said that a deer hound cross was too big to catch rabbits, I merely asked why would he want to breed such a large job for mostly lamping which I presumed was on rabbits. Even a thick c**t like yourself must appreciate that if your soely after said quarry, a smaller breed is more excitin
  5. I reckon there will be a few envious glances at your post from guys with dogs of a similiar age on here with far greater problems than you have. You don't even have a problem. Everyting you can do to teach and guide the dog you have done admirabily. Somethings you cant teach and picking up quarry is one of them. Its down to the dog to learn this its self and the only way is through experiance. Don't worry, it'll click, might take it a week, month or even a full season but it will click.
  6. well i always wanted 1 cause i liked the look and wanted to see what they were like, i use it for lamping british quarry my dog does well on rabbits actually im trying to get pic to upload Always fancied one myself mate but since the ban, big dogs just attract attention so alas, it's not for me but good luck.

  10. Wasn't there someone had a photo on here of a dog with a hare, the dog had all its knuckles lol, looked about 4 months old.
  11. If only it was that easy.... Obviously it is easier to spot a white dog on a moor compared to any other, you just need to scan the horizon and see how easy it is to spot sheep. Don't make a white dog bad though. As for getting spotted poaching, farmers, keepers etc are out in the field 365 days a year, think how good their eyes are at spotting game etc. The more you are out the easier it is to spot a hare so they're gonna spot a 27 inch f*****g lurcher no matter the colour so I wouldn't worry about it. I'll tell you wnat, if all the folk who are breeding from good stock don't want white lurche
  12. Looks a heavy dog, plenty of bone. What you use that for mate?
  13. Aye, I've seen them a sandy colour, might have been a coincidence but its skin seemed thinner than normal.
  14. How can you tell at 10 weeks mate?
  15. hes in the [bANNED TEXT] section walk about wif da dog checkn for rabbit spots then ask for permission 4m farmer [bANNED TEXT] type lurcher is it hes a 13 month old 1/2 wippet 1/4 greyhound 1/4 collie [bANNED TEXT] i fort that would be the best choice as he will be quick with a bit of brains. do u think so [bANNED TEXT]? First things first..... make sure you feed and water him and give him shelter...... Nice cross, should do you fine. At 13 months he must have had some kind of training so I'd get a good book and read up my friend cos right now, he'll probably know more ab
  16. Never known a dog not to do it mate. Its as if they are so proud of themselves they have to give you a lap of honour. If it helps, they generaly grow out of it. Either ignore his behaviour and continue to move on after he has caught the rabbit or just sit quietly until he finally comes to you and give him loads of praise.... Just one of those things mate. You cantry teaching them to retrieve but as you'll already be aware, its different out hunting... once they go into hunting mode they become deaf, blind and f*****g intolarable.... but alas they overcome.......
  17. LOL sorry terrie Hope you get the information you require........ as i slip out the door quietly......
