Does anyone know of pick axe lines
auldboy replied to Chopper2575's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
do you not like the truth bryan the man that bought the bitch has told you how he rested her but still failed any mediocre dog will do a handful of digs in a season but how many are able for a good work load but if ye are happy with a terrier doing under ten digs a season that's your business -
Does anyone know of pick axe lines
auldboy replied to Chopper2575's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
With a bit of time, patience and a few more digs, most things can be explained. Shoot dogs quick enough or get rid and you'd never understand what made them tick or not. Those guys got a bitch that was working well, well bred, thought they saw one mistake and got rid. Yet she never put a foot wrong before or after they had her? For me these are the interesting things about the sport and terriers, but too many guys think it's a simple game, dog looks side ways? shoot it. Maybe it was the first time game had dug away from the bitch? burst past the bitch? They wouldn't have know if she was -

Ireland The West Wexford Harriers Dog Show
auldboy replied to source's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
Firstly the best of luck with the show. JimJim tell are you and Source one if a kind maybe the same person or maybe your his wife/lover the reason I ask is any time Source puts up a post you seem to have more replays than Source dose there is nothing like advertising but between your self and Sourse you would win medals for keeping a tread alive. -
my lurcher was a demon for following deer so I tied him to the antlers of a red stag I bet when or if I find him he will never follow deer again

just a little question to see what different people consider to be gameness one lad thinks a Russell digging at a hedge row for half the day is gameness but his mate thinks that is the russells hunting instinct my out look on gameness is a terrier that will go below and gets stuck into his quarry what do you lads consider to be gameness

BALLINLOUGH CASTLE COUNTRY FAIR
auldboy replied to IrishNationalCountryFairs's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
i have to say for a game fair it was the worst turn out of terriers ive ever seen and as usual the terriers and lurchers were kept well out of the way and hidden from the main show if the organizers dont do somethin to improve the terrier and lurcher show and get proper judges it will be a poor turn out next year -

Judges for All Ireland Terrier & Lurcher Championships
auldboy replied to AlbertJ's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
who is judging the terriers in birr albert Des Macken is judging the ROI Championships. Des like Seamus Erwin our Terrier Director has won most of the big championships. He is well known for the quality of his terriers and we felt it was time to show that there are good Irish judges about. There is a three judge and referee system for the Final of the Five Nations Championships. The lurcher judge wishes to keep their identity a secret but is a well know lurcher enthusiast from the UK. in my eyes thats not an improvement with des macken as a judge i thought it was a workin terrier s -
