    Do you know if whippets without kc papers are allowed to run at Dunsilly? Whippets do not have to be KC registered to race or show at the Sporting Whippet Club N.I. events at Dunsilly, but they do have to be pure bred whippets - not non peds!

    The Sporting Whippet Club N.I. will be holding their first show & race event of 2012 this coming Sunday....see details below: Whippet Show & Race Day (Pure bred whippets only ) Sunday 29th April, 2012 @ 12 0’clock mid-day. DUNSILLY KENNELS, Milltown Road, Antrim. BT41 2JJ * All dogs racing at this event MUST be muzzled * A catering van will be in attendance at the show - Signing in for racing between 12 - 12.30 pm, no late entries will be taken - all dogs to be taken up to the tent when booking them in for the racing. - Grad

All the usual details, as follows: Venue: Dunsilly Kennels, Milltown Road, Antrim, BT41 2JJ Gate opens 12 Midday Signing in for racing 12.00 - 12.30 No entries will be taken after this time. Grading starts at 12.45 Show will start at approx 1.30 Racing will commence immediately after showing.     I wasn't able to be there on Saturday to race my whippets but am amazed to read that a ''hairy dog'' was 'allowed' to enter in the non KC reg. whippet race........and even more surprised that people entering their whippets in this race didn't object ???!!! A whippet is a 'breed' of dog in it's own right and as such has a breed standard which clearly states that coat should be 'Fine, short & close in texture'........can't think how a hairy dog meets this standard ....lol!!

    Sorry we weren't there on Sat to meet up with you Silverfox but CONGRATULATIONS on winning the pedigree whippet racing with Buddy .Flash did us all proud on Sunday when she went on to win Champion Whippet in the showing .

    Couldn't be there to race / show the whippets today but have heard that the whippet racing was won by Davy Boyd's 'Hooch' and the Whippet Show winner was John Shaw with his young blue dog which I think is called 'Blue' ...... with John & Margaret McStays 'Silver' taking reserve best whippet. Well done all!!! Haven't heard any terrier or lurcher results from Ballinlough yet!

    From what I remember, you also need to be kept out of the bathroom to avoid causing floods , at one point it was raining inside the house ......lol!! :11: See you on Saturday

    Just checking what time do the events kick off at ? And is there a list of the show classes? Also do the whippets have their own judge or will they be judged by the lurcher judge? ...........QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS...lol!!!!
