  4. Where will whippets without genuine KC registrations, who are OVER 21'' race?
  5. Great idea Fiona , at last the KC reg. whippets are properly acknowledged and given a race of their own. When being booked in for racing then, I hope their KC registration papers (not just a handwritten paper pedigree) will be carefully looked at to check they match the the dog.
  6. The sporting whippet Club does this, using a large white board, then those racing their dogs have no excuse if they are not ready for their heat. Walkie talkies between those officiating on the start and finish lines also speeds things up as they can communicate easier if there are problems. I agree with PoppyB on this , if handling classes are to be included they should be judged as the name of the class suggests..........on the 'owners/ handlers' own handling ability of the dog they are showing. The judge doesn't need to put their hands on the dog as it is not the dog they are judgi
  7. Well done to all who were placed at the show , and those dogs who did themselves proud round the race track. I just thought it was a pity that the Champion Terrier wasn't there at the end to compete against the whippet and lurcher for overall Best In Show, but it was a long day and I suppose other commitments that evening must have prevailed.

  9. Personally I'd rather get ' a 15Kg bag of good quality dog food' than a trophy for winning a class .......And so would my winning dog, lol!!
  10. Great to hear that your show is back on again this year John and that you are holding the N.I. CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS again at it. Can you clarify the who qualifies for this ? Is it winners of all the shows run this year up until the date of your show, or shows from which date to which date? Just wondering Tracy

  17. Thanks fot that Ian , Just had a look and it lists the whippet classes amongst the lurcher classes, I am assuming this is a miss print and that the whippets will have their own ring and judge as in previous years. Can I ask if it is possible for whippets to perhaps have a class for 'pairs' and 'Veterans', as the lurchers/ terriers seem to have these? There are a lot of whippets being taken to the shows in recent years, and the whippet judge will only have 4 classes to judge otherwise and be finished far before all the other rings........ just an idea, I thought I'd ask before you get
  18. Hi Sinead, What type of 'Crossbreed' is your dog ? This show will have classes for Whippets, Terriers, Lurchers and Strong dogs (Staffies, wheaten terriers etc). It really depends on whet type of cross your dog is as to whether there will be classes it can be entered into?
