  2. Hey guys, ive had no burnt or damaged primers, i started with 26grns then pushed it up to 27. They cycle fine, ive had no sticking. I will hopefully get out again this week, maybe tomorrow if its fine weather and have another bash. Gonna compare 200yards and maybe 250 or 300 to see what it can do. After Sundays outing Ive got about 50 of this load made up, im getting a bit addicted to it! Logic, its a 26" barrel. the PES is a tad bulky bit it is a varmint rifle so its heavy anyways - ive just made it heavier!! lol However it is good, i would deffo have another when the time co
  3. Im very happy with the reloading results im starting to get.... im pretty new to this so everything has been a big learning curve. My remmy 700 dosent like 40grs at all... 32s are ok but the 39SBKs are really starting to hit the sweet spot. Here is a bit of grouping from sunday, 6 shots ate 120yards in very strong winds and shooting from the lamping disco sunroof, lol im shooting at a old Suzuki SJ door. Im 1000% i will be able to get 6 shots touching of the bi-pod Next is the first fox ive shot with my loads load is: Hornady brass Remington 7-1/2 primers 27grn H322

  5. Hey Peter, well went to Simpsons in Chumleigh.... when we could find it anyway. What a great little shop and the chap was very helpfull, i will start using him all the time! Its nice to see loads of reloading stuff in stock and hes very happy to order anything i wanted. So i got the 39sbks, and picked up some more 7-1/2 primers and he had a Rimfire Magic trigger kit for my .17hmr CZ so i was very happy chappy. ive made a few 39sbk loads with H322, also your recipe for the 40s I havnt had chance to try them out, was hoping to today but wether was shite most of the day Th

  7. Peter, ive just phoned Simpsons they have 39sbks in stock and i will be picking some up tomorrow. I poped to Westcountry guns today and picked up some H322, ive made a few loads with the 40gr V-Max i had left. What OAL do you find best?? I only used 2.250 but after some reasearch ive seen people using 2.3, so ive made the following Using 40gr Vmax H322 Remington benchrest primers Hornady brass 23gr 24gr 25gr With OAL 2.25 & same again with 2.3 OAL - It will be intresting to see the difference in the two. Id like to thank you all for your advice. Sam

  11. How much is the kit? Anyone got a link? Cheers
  12. Brilliant Guys, thanks for the help... I will be phoning my RFD to order some more bullet heads im gonna try 39gr SBKs, 35gr Berger Hollowpoints and the advised RL10X powder. And ive got a case trimmer on order with reloading solutions. Thats some very impressive groups youve got there dice I like it!! It may sound daft but - im using remington small rifle primers.... will different primers make a difference? So nobodys has tried the Bergers, ive read some very good articles on US forums about the accuracy of them...
  13. Hello, ive started reloading.... ive found that my remington 700 likes the 32V-max over the 40s. Im using H335 Powder and the load ive found works best is 32grn V-MAX and 27grn H335. There is a pic below of my first 6 shots of the 32s, i didnt bother taking a pic of the various 40 loads as they are all over the place. This was at 100yrds did it with my range finder. Is this grouping of 6 shots any good or should it be more accurate, the 2 flyers were probably me. Also has anyone used the 35grn Berger hollow points? Any advice would be great
  14. Hey, i love the PES T12 That ive got on my 700, is it a varmint rifle toy would be putting it on? i say this as its a tad heavy.... although they are very very good and made out of stainless steel, they can be either stainless of anodised black. Take a look on here for some reviews http://gunmart.net/accessories_review/pes_...d_quick_design/
  15. Erm, i use a PES T12 on my .204ruger..... its very good although a little heavy. I use it on my Remington 700 SPS Varmint so its a weighty rifle anyways. I got it on the advice from some chaps on the guntrader forum, they all had .308s and said how good it was. Hope this helps Sam
  16. I should be able to get it for around the £800 mark, inc rings and sun shade. Its got the T-8 Reticle and its illuminated. Cause its got a 35mm tube dose it mean it should be great for lamping? Thanks Sam
  17. Theres a chance that i can get a Ior Valdada 6-24x50 Tactical scope with 35mm tube at a good price. It will come with rings to fit so thats not an issue, has anyone had any use of this brand? Ive seen some very good reviews about the quality, people saying that they are changing their nightforce for ior. Any comments/advice would be great! thanks Sam
  18. Yeah was fair big, glad i didnt have far to carry him! Saw another but the shot wasnt safe... Im going lamping tonight at a mates, been told that i cant miss and have to be quick cause the foxes where we are going are pretty wild. Due to the farmers lad chasing them on the quad at nite taking pot shots with a .22 using Stingers...
  19. Ric....... you should be excited they are amazing fun. West to Westcountry guns today to pick up some ammo and bought Hornady 40gr BTs - until im rolling with the reloading stuff, got some bits on order with midway. - Bit of info on the box Muzzle 3900 fps - Thats what they claim although ive been told its less If its Zeroed at 200 Yards you should get the following 100yds +0.7" 200yds 0.00" 300yds -4.3" 400yds -13.2" 500yds -28.1" So its a pretty flat bullet!! even less drop with the 32s
  20. Took out the fox thats been sniffing round my chickens... I love the .204, im getting started with reloading, im starting with 40gr Hornady V-max as my rifle likes their factory ammo. Quite excited about making "the perfect load" - sad i know.... but very fun And compared to a .223 and the other varmint rounds its pretty quiet! My rifle Remington 700 SPS Varmint .204ruger PES T12 Moderator - they are very good if only a bit heavy Timney trigger - to be fitted HS precision stock Ior Valdada scope base Warne QR rings Scope - Konus mpro 8.5-32x52 30mm - Gettin a IOR valdada 6
  21. Ive got one and i fookin love it, Cheaper bullets, very flat, quiet with a good Mod i use a PES T12. Although with a twist rate of 1 in 12 my remingtron 700 has a 26" barrel. DO NOT be tempted to cut down, ive read stuff where people say that they have lost sooo muct velocity/accuracy that they have pretty puch reuined their rifle. Its flatter than a .22-250, less kick (none) not that a .22-250 has any. Erm, max weight i would go is 40-42gr, bigger than that you will need a twist rate of 1in8 or so. Cheers Sam
  22. I couldnt wait for a reply so ive bought the above combo, and got a free filter with the lamp. Hopefully it will be worth it!!
  23. Hello, im getting a new lamping and battery combo, i was thinking a Lightforce Blitz Sl240 VP and a Deben lithium battery pack. Any thoughts on this? anyone know what kind of lamping time i will get out of this? Its to be used for all quarry and include lamping from a truck. Ive only got a Mole Valley Farmers lamp so this is gonna be a big leap so i dont mind putting some sensible money in. Any helpful comments would be grrrrrreat! Thanks Sam p.s using it with my 700 sps varmint in .204 ruger and my CZ .17 hmr.
  24. IS it still for sale? If so will you post? Thanks Sam
