  1. Just hang on a while until Zini switches on, then you'll get a full description of the two and some advice. Sib
  2. Top man. You can never shoot enough rats. Sib
  3. hi matey i wont be letting this go noooooo wayyyyyyy atb steve Good for you Steve. Let us know how you get on mate. Sib
  4. Good shooting mate. I absolutely hate magpies, but I find they're one of hardest birds to shoot. Cheers Sib
  5. To be honest, I've shot more foxes with 6s than 1, 2 or SG etc. If you place the shot right the pattern of the sixes does the job. Also you're more likely to have a 6 in the barrel if you are doing walked up etc. Cheers Sib
  6. Nice shooting Aaron. A cracking pair of gloves as well - did you decoy them or where you roost shooting? All the best Sib

    Great idea Zini. Sib
  8. Top job lads. Waiting for the write up and pics now. Sib
  9. I only pump to 200, so my FX pump does a good job. As long as you don't let your gun get too low, it is a fairly simple job to top up. Cheers Sib
  10. The trouble with companies like this is that they knowingly flout the law. It doesn't matter whether it's a gun shop, computer shop or anything else. I had a really bad experience with a place called HSS Supplies in Essex. My lad needed a stab vest for his work and I bought one for him (£350)and when it turned up it was the wrong size. They then siad they couldn't replace it until they had the original back. It took them 3 weeks to collect it and then months of phoning and letters after they said the new one had been sent out (although they could never provide proof). I'm ashamed to say that
  11. I was seriously considering one about a year ago. However, I started to hear stories about leaking air cylinders and the fact that every time you take it apart it lost an amount of air. Then Zini had problems with his and I decided against it and ended up with an Air Arms TDR in .177. Cheers Sib
  12. I love watching them and particularly the reactions of the woodies when they know one is about - sheer panic!
  13. Just remember, when you see Zini shooting, that he is better with a springer than any of us are ever likely to be, Still, it gives us simething to sapire to. Sib
  14. What an excellent bloke. Nice to have guys like that on the forum. I hope you get through your other troubles mate. Cheers Sib
  15. As the previous poster says - you just have to look around. I've been shooting a 20 bore for the past six years and cannot believe how much we users get ripped off. I know it is a case of supply and demand, but the cases are smaller, the shot is often less, but we are expected to pay up to 50% more. Happy hunting. Cheers Sib
  16. To be honest, the HW100 is a great gun out of the box. Mine is incredibly consistent in its output and you shouldn't need to do much to it. The standard Weihrauch silencer is excellent and others fit this silencer to BSAs,Air Arms etc to quieten them down. We are hearing good things about the A & M silencers (search for posts by Zini and Davy)and I believe Zini will be doing a comparative test on video shortly. Cheers Sib
  17. Top job and well done. Next and the most important thing (as stated above) is to get your ranges sorted and be accurate. I'm afraid it's just practice, practice and more practice. Good luck. Sib
  18. Well done darryl, a great start with the HW100. I find I can shoulder the thumbhole stock pretty quickly and consistently and I guess that's what you need for rats. Cheers Sib
  19. What a bargain Darryl. Exactly the same rifle I have and you will be thrilled with the German engineering and the little touches - like not being able to double load and only being able to apply the safety when the gun is cocked. I ended up using Falcon Accuracy plus pellets in mine, which give the same trajectory as a .20 rifle but with the slightly larget frontal area of a .22 pellet. Super accurate gun and a joy to use. Sib
  20. 5 years ago, on the land that I shoot, there was only one black rabbit to be seen. This morning when walking the dogs I would anticipate that 30% of the rabbits I saw were black. In some of the horses' paddocks it can be as high as 50%. However where we live there is an old superstition that says if you shoot a black rabbit it will bring you bad luck. Consequently none of the old boys, or the keeper on the shoot, by me will kill them. Perhaps this should now be revised in light of the fact that the black rabbits seem to have the stronger gene colour? Cheers Sib
  21. Really good write up Phantom. Makes me feel as though I was there with you. I bloody hate rats and we get a few around the stables. The only way I have consistently shot them is baiting with peanut butter and the like. Good work. Sib
  22. I gave up my 12 bores about 4 years ago in favour of the 20 bore and haven't looked back. I shoot and o/u Beretta and use it for duck flighting, rough shooting, pigeon decoying, driven game and clays. I love the light weight of the gun and the fact I can shoot 24/28/30 gm cartridges as the mood takes me. It is a great gun for snapshooting but harder for crossers until you get used to it (lack of weight/inertia) The only downside, as mentioned above, is the rip off cartidge cost. Cheers Sib
  23. Excellent post - thank you. I have the same rifle with a Brooks trigger kit. Had mine cut down to 16" with no loss of accuracy. I use a Parker Halew silencer which is old but excellent.Eley subs suit mine much better than Winchesters. I have mine zeroed for 60 yards but may change as per yours in view of the fact that I use my Weihrauch KT100 .22 air rifle happily out to 50yds. Cheers Sib
