  1. I zero at 60yds which gives me a second zero at 100yrds
  2. Jim is spot on. My two sons use their Go Pro 3s for enduro riding and kite surfing respectively. They are excellent for the wide angle shots required. However put them on a shotgun or rifle and the wide angle lens is the opposite of what you need. Would suggest you look at alternatives if it is just for shooting.
  3. Nice. I've yet to use the ones I got from bpr but looking forward to testing them.
  4. I bought two of Lee's carabiner game carriers. He was a top bloke to deal with and after a bit of a mix up with sizes he chucked in a paracord bracelet. Top bloke to deal with and quality goods with excellent workmanship. All at a very good price
  5. Blimey - is that sunshine?? Nice view and nice photo.
  6. Excellent write up and great pics. Thanks
  7. Do you apply it by hand or on a cloth? How long do you leave it on before wiping off? Thanks
  8. You'll love it. The .17 HMR is a great round. We normally zero ours at 40 yds and it is then on zero at 100 yds as well. Between these points you need no holdover at all.
  9. I have just treated myself to a new game gun for next season. A bit premature, but it was belated birthday present to myself and I reasoned that I could get used to it during the summer. It is a Beretta Pigeon 1 Deluxe 20 bore 30". The woodwork on it is rather nice and before I take it out I thought I would garner opinion on the best way to treat it in order to protect it from the elements. Normally I wouldn't bother, but last year I bought a new Silver Pigeon 12 bore and took it out in some light rain. At the end of the day the stock was badly marked with white spots that couldn't be
  10. I am in the same boat and have just decided on a Meopta 7x50 for my .223 and .17HMR. Fed up with variable zoom and parallax. Cheers Sib
  11. Identical to mine with the PH moderator. Shot countless bunnies over the past 15 tears with it and never missed a beat. Nice shooting Sib
  12. Shotgun Tim is right - it's all about the training. Both my small labs were taught from an early age to retrieve from thick cover and bramble. Once they had done a few retrieves, they never thought anything of it. Often on the shoot they would pick up where certain spaniels wouldn't. Sadly I lost both mum and daughter within 7 weeks of each other, recently. Sib
  13. I've got the CZ 452 Style in 16". Brilliant for shooting from a vehicle and as already mentioned, an absolute tack driver. Sib
  14. If Rolland were reffing the game tomorrow, would he send off a NZ player for the same tackle? Consistency is all that is required and this World Cup has been abysmal for that. Last week's shocking reffing by Bryce Lawrence cost South Africa the game. Sib
  15. Found a recipe the other day for damson chutney. Also we has a lovely damson crumble yesterday evening. Sib
  16. Thanks all. Plenty of food for thought here. Cheers Sib
  17. I am just about to get a .223 for foxing, In all probability a Tikka T3. I like the laminated stainless, but finances will probably dictate that I get the Hunter or Lite model. I want a moderator, but have been bemused by the wide number of options available. I have also heard horror stories from shooting colleagues of some models rotting from the inside after only a year. I realise that I will have to pay a reasonable amount for a good model and I therefore need some recommendations for a moderator that fulfills the following criteria: 1) Moderates the report efficiently 2) Does
  18. Thank you. Really enjoyed a couple of the articles. Cheers Sib
  19. CZ 452 style with 16" barrel and SAK moderator. Cracking bit of kit and great from inside a 4x4. Cheers Sib
