hi all,i have a 12 month old whippet which iv had for 6 months now and shes turning out to be a smashing little bitch, but have had her out ferreting 7-8 times now and all she wants to do is get her teeth into anything includeing the ferrets, just wondering has anybody had this problem and do they have any advic on how to correct this or will she always have this problem?

if whippets can do it nd they can id say thered b no bother in them doing it providing they have the speed

hi everyone im after getting a plummer pup nd just wanted to see what your opionions were on them for bushing rabbits?

i know it sounds nice but would you not be ending up with dog similer to the qualitys to a plummer with less bite?

i wouldint run a dog in woods unless it was an older dog with experiance so it knows when to use its power i hunt woods with an old experiaced bith nd it proves good bags but seen a 12 month old pup breakining its leg and hip running woods as it was to keen an inexperianced.

i have always had pure whippets and there smashing little dogs which iv seen takeing most quarry just make sure yu do your research fist and get a good hardy strain and you will avoide most of the problems that people say but they are effected by the cold.

sorry to hear this happend to me twice the fist it happend to me best whippet and she died cos i hadent reacted quick enough but it happend to another lurcher bitch i had nd i saw the simtoms nd got her to the vets quickenough

i think its diffrent from dog to dog depending on their attitude to work iv had many pups which can be brought into the feild at 6 monthes and are only focused on the quarry and really only want to catch it i find these pups can b started early with a gud balance of obedence training so they dnt go wild but on the other hand theres pups that will go out and hunt but find it all a big game and want to play aswell these should be held up untill there more mature i feel.

i had a whippet bitch that used to take them single handed they get marked very easy though. she died only a few months ago picked up poision sumwere

not sure mate all i know is he ia a full whippet, dont no about the lines hes from or anything....where you get urs mate?, could be a litter brother or sister....any pics? i got it up the north mate were did you get yours?. yeah i do cnt get them up on this

bring them out with an experianced dog and hold them on the lead for the fist couple of nights and let them watch. then give them a few slips with the other dog so they get a few squeses of the rabbit and build them up from ther. it always worked 4 me

my mate bought 1 at a fair the other day. he bought just the lamp singely we connected it to my battery and you wouldnt be able to see any difference between lightforce lamps nd the u caller

i have whippets and i lamp them theyer good little lampers and will get big bags but they lack abit of power for a rabbit going straight on its run but if you get squating rabbits were you lamp you theyl b no bother and youl see grat snapy little hunts and will beat bigger breed lurchers 9 times out eh 10.
