  1. My Patterdale bitch does this every now & then she is 4 years old, look likes its hereditary as her dam also did this but continued to work well. It's possibly due to them being too closely bred as once someone gets a good digging line they tend to keep the gene pool close to produce more workers, unfortunately some of them carry this fault. Out of interest what area did the dog come from?
  2. Cheers pal, when I say kennel I mean pen/run as well as sleeping area. Would drainage grid be ok in middle of run area to jet wash waste away or better at front were door would be? Where can I get some designs from?
  3. Hi, I'm after a bit of advice building a kennel for my two terriers. My 2 year old lad has developed an allergy so they have to go outside, one dog has been inside for 4 years the other is just a 4 month old pup. I won't be putting them out until end of March when it gets a bit milder but after that it will be permanent. I'm looking to build it myself out of brick rather than wood with a barred front so I'm after some ideas on what to build, dimensions for run, sleeping quarters etc and any tips, pictures of yours to get me started. I've not kennelled my dogs before so is there are any importa

  8. Hi, the dog is still at the vets having treatment so hasn't made it to the dogs home yet but has 7 days for someone to come forward before it can be rehomed, think it is at beech house vets Warrington if anyone wants to give them a ring, it is microchipped & they know it's a plummer but that's all I know at the moment. Thanks for all your help
  9. No owner couldn't be traced so he has been cleaned up by vet for re-homing at Leigh cats & dogs home, don't think he will be there long as he is a smart looking chap just hope he goes to a good home

  11. Update. Took plummer to local kennels & they scanned it & it's microchipped, not registered to owner but can find out who bred it at a vets tomorrow so hopefully get it back to its owner, possibly dogs been nicked & used for bait but can't be certain but would be nice to get it reunited with its owner
  12. I've not got a pic mate can't upload off my iPhone, he is about 12" tts, stocky, docked, usual red & white jacket. Really nice little friendly dog just scared & bit shook up, was curled up next to some leather sofas that had been dumped so whether they own the dog & have dumped him & he's gone to ground & returned to sofas or has been attacked or just lost to ground I don't know. There might be a chance he's microchipped so can find the owner if it's registered so fingers crossed
  13. Just found a male plummer terrier whilst out looks like it's either been to ground or attacked by another dog as it has bite marks on its ears & head & bleeding & is limping. I have put it in a dog box & taken it home will be taking it to Leigh cats & dogs home tomorrow. It was found on silver lane on biffa waste services Warrington junc 11 m62, if any terrier men are interested in keeping this dog get in contact before it goes to the dogs home. Thanks Rich

  16. Brings a whole new meaning to kite training
  17. Mooching kelt, that is interesting reading, common in border terriers which is inherited. There is a vid on YouTube of a border having a fit & it looks a lot like what my pat suffers from apart from the vomiting. I'm sure patterdales may have had a bit of border blood thrown in over the years so perhaps some have inherited this syndrome, a low protein/gluten free diet is supposed to help, mine is feed mainly barf so might try it on some dry food might be worth a try. Cheers
  18. Its for my brother hes after a Small Munsterlander Kleiner Münsterländer must be pedigree, any chance you could email any info to me I will send u pm. Thanks, Richard
  19. Thanks for all the replys. I spoke to the guy who bred her from & he told me her brother from a previous litter same breeding died around Christmas time due to having fits so looks like it is heriditary & not much I can do, I'm gonna take her vets to get a blood test to rule out anything else but it it does seem to be in the breeding so will see how things go but she won't be working next season, shame as she is a little grafter & was hoping to get a pup from her next year to bring on but won't be breeding from her now
  20. Does anyone have problems with patterdales having fits then being sick, my 4 year old bitch has had a few recently. She goes stiff then her legs go & head cranks over then usually vomits then 5 mins later she will come round & seems to have a blank expression & stares at ground then finds her feet again. Could it be epilepsy or something hereditary or due to being worked taking a knock? I was planning on getting a pup from her next year as she's a good worker but am thinking twice now if its in her genes. Anyone else experienced this?
  21. Anyone know any small musterlander breeders in uk or a contact to bring one over to the uk?
  22. I go out on my bike most nights & my pat runs along side me so jogging shouldnt be a problem, got her up to about 4 miles now without stopping, she loves it & keeps them in shape over the summer
