Got a Deben MK3 & nets so ready to go if anyone is willing. Also got a 6 month old Patterdale bitch broken to ferrets & Female Harris hawk that i could bring if anyone fancies it Thanks, Rich

Your doing well if you got a male harris to take a leveret. What weight does he hunt at? Must be a big male to take on that size of quarry, they weigh about 6 pound, only ever heard of the females taking hare & they get given a hard time. ATB
  5. Hello, Is there anyone in the Cheshire area that i could tag along with for a days ferreting? I have some permission but it is not very good ground for ferreting. Have kept & bred ferrets for a couple of years and am hoping to get my two 8 month old gills working this year, have used ferrets before for bolting rabbits for my brothers harris hawk but want to try a bit of netting & dont seem to be having much luck. Ive got a Deben MK3 and 10 purse nets to get me started, just looking for someone to show me the ropes. I know people dont like sharing their permission as its hard enough to

  9. Yes its just a B&Q 5 quid toolbox with a load of 8mm holes in it and a strap put on with a bolt, nut and 2 washers. Its really light for carrying and easy to clean. Had a wooden one but they start to stink and are a bit on the heavy side banging around when walking, hardly even notice ive got this on my shoulder.
  10. Just thought i'd share a couple of pics i have found from last season of my male harris hawk which developed a bit of a fetish for magpies. He took 9 last year mainly whilst following on hitting them on the ground but took one in flight off the fist and another in flight out of a tree which were great flights too watch.
  11. The 2 sandies in the picture are this years kits. They were bred from my albino gill x polecat hob and she spat out all sorts of colours, polecats, albinos and sandies. Just the luck of the draw really but i do think the sandies are a bit hardier than the albinos and have slightly better eye sight as ive noticed they seem to pick up on things the pink eyes dont see, all top workers tho. Heres a pic of 2 albino hobs from the same litter
  12. When you say cinnamon do you mean sandy also some people call them champagne. Dont know if there is a difference in colour but heres a picture of my 2 gills which i would describe as sandy's. Cheers, Rich
