  1. Does anyone know any spar dealers in the north west? How much they are going for & what weights they fly at, after female imprint. Cheers, Rich
  2. Hello, has anyone ever given their ferrets the "Jill Jab" and what are their opinions/experiences of it? Any side effects etc as i am thinking of getting my 2 Jills jabbed for their first season then getting a vasectomised hob & do it the natural way from then on. Thanks, Rich
  3. Its that time of year again & my 2 Jills have just come into season. Does anybody have a Vasectomised Hob that i could use to take my Jills out of season as i dont want to breed them this year. I am willing to travel to drop them off or even borrow a hob for the weekend & will sort you out a few quid or a couple of rabbits etc. Im based in Warrington, Cheshire. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated
  4. Anyone in the Cheshire/Northwest area got a vasectomised hob to bring my two jills out of season, will drop off & collect jills & sort you out a few quid. Thanks, Rich
  5. Just wondering what is the best treatment for tapeworms? Bought some Milbemax which contains the active ingredient Praziquantel but it was £5.00 a tab. Anyone know where i can buy it cheaper or another brand? Thanks, Rich
  6. Hello Kevin, long time no speak. Will definitely take you up on the offer of a couple of days out in october. Patterdale is 8 months now & coming on well, marking the holes & even caught a couple of rabbits herself. Harris Hawks are down for the moult & will hopefully be breeding this year
  7. Couple of pics, one from last weekend, one from this weekend...Went out for a couple of hours on saturday & got 2 rabbits, one dug, one in the net. They dont want to bolt at the moment & would rather take their chances against the ferrets so am calling it a day until next season
  8. This happened to us last week with the two jills after the rabbit went down another hole when the dog missed it, remember If it had been your hob we wouldnt have been able to get it back
  9. Very Very good advice, 99% of the time this will happen so if you dont want to dig i wouldnt advise it
  10. Alright hedz31 cheers for the advice, i would say your opinion would definitely be right mate if i just wanted a 100% earth dog for foxes but thats not what im after. I want her to be an all rounder from rats, rabbits, bushing etc & if she fancies a go at a fox along the way i wont stand in her way, suppose its "horses for courses" really & have no doubt some terrier men may frown upon it but at the moment shes doing her job well. I take her out with my harris hawks & ferrets & she is working really hard at the moment flushing game & catching rabbits & is switching her
  11. Hello mate, cheers for the advice, i do keep a very close eye on her especially when out in unknown territory, she has shown interest in a few fox holes so i do keep her on the lead, also chased a couple of foxes above ground into cover, wont be entering her to fox tho until shes matured a bit & at least 12-18 months, dont want to ruin her & im in no rush. Thanks, Rich
  12. A pic of my brother with his male Harris & rabbit in the snow a couple of weeks ago. We bolted 4 caught 2, the two he missed were very luck escapes, 1st jinxed after a good 50yd flight & the second hit the rabbit which ran across a frozen stream & smashed the ice he hit it that hard but the rabbit got to a hole pretty sharpish so not a bad day really.
  13. Couple of pics from the weekend of Jess my Patterdale bitch on a huge rabbit which was bolted with my ferret & caught outside the hole, she had her first one last weekend & this is her second rabbit
  14. Hello mate, have you got any pics of your Harris, what quarry has he taken, is he silent parent reared, ok with dogs & ferrets. How come your getting rid? Cheers, Rich PM if you like

  19. Has anyone ever had problems with their ferret collars coming off the ferret when its in a warren? I put my ferret down, bolted a rabbit next minute ferret came up minus her collar. How tight does the collar have to be, i put it on & it felt nice & tight(so i could pinch my fingers together underneath it) & couldnt pull it over the ferrets head but it still came off. Has anyone tried using harness's with the locater attached or is there too much risk of getting the ferret snagged on roots? Anywayi dug nearly 5 foot & the locater was still another 4 foot down but the ground was
  20. Hello mate, i know she has Nuttall blood in her that goes quite far back & both her parents are 100% workers. I would say most modern patterdales have some of the old fell terrier blood running through their veins in some form or other as thats were they originated from? The old fell terriers from the Patterdale & Lake District regions that were used in the Coniston hunts & Middleton days came in all shapes & sizes & different coloured coats from grey(Bedlington type), red, black & tan etc. What would you describe a fell terriers characteristics to be? Cheers, Rich
  21. Just a couple of pics of my 6 month old patterdale pup Jess in the snow the other day. She is coming along nicely
