Just got home from a day out with my pat frank and never had to dig once, yet got a few , its different country here and as you know we dont have the deep dens like they do in the uk , in the country I hunt, old rabbit warrens are the norm in shallow sandy soils , under old farm houses and haystacks , I'm on the southern plains/riverena. Son . If your only intentions in the fowl are mercenary , than why not breed puppies for the general market ? I have 2 farms in the Philippines , 1 in Leyte were we produce close to 1000 stags per year and we are regular participants in the wsc and other major circuit derbies, the other on negros were I play with naked heel fowl . The point I am trying to make is that I cant make a good profit at the end of the year from my hobby , I consider myself lucky if I break even at years end , thats why I still return home to oz to earn a living . So how the hell can you make good money in a suburban

The stag is anemic and needs iron or free range to get what it requires itself to get its red cell count up.At its age it wouldnt be causing any troubles and exercise would do it the world of good.
