Depends what you like, there is a lot more choice even though the is still a good rifle in the modern airgun world, we have PCP's now, how long have you been out, give us a clue to what you like in an air rifle. otherwise it would have to be the Logun Pro for me.

Another Rapid owner has discovered the auto unwind, great when it happens in the middle of a reload & you loose your target, normaly happens in middle of winter with numb fingers pissing with rain & a fadeing headlamp, then I wonder why I did not take up stamp collecting. foxon.

I have a 90K very pointable & accurate feeds well on Accupells, bit heavy, use for dispatching rabbits in thick woodland brush it takes a lot of abuse & has paid for itself many times over, a very pro bit of kit. foxon. mine's the classic model not the carbine, so will be looking forward to see how accurate it is. It is heavier than the 95 but I can live with that You will find a better group on your classic with longer barrel past the 30 yard mark, but my 90k in .22 with standard HW ram is ideal for dense cover like woods & brush, still pretty accurate out to 35 bu

The BSA silencer c/w the Txl is pretty good but so is the Logun CF type, someone will come along that has tried both, but I have shot the Tact with standard fit silencer & there is always room for improvement. I have not got a Tact in stock or I would test it now with a Logun CF. foxon.

If I go out on a large farm I will normaly split the take with land owner, or will skin gut & deliver to the local butcher as he dose not take kindly to the fleas @ £1.50 a carcas, if I have to keep them over night I hang them in my cold store where I prep deer, in the warm weather flies & their maggots are a real pain so you have to be quick with the prep, all leftovers go to my Polecats & if a large amount the Hunt Boys will pickup. foxon.

As above if you know your scope it's recticle & or mildot you can judge the distance of your Quarry in the sight picture, most scopes have a range finder, it is also good to use fence posts fence mesh as a guide to compare with. As a lad I would place dead rabbits at 30 40 50 60 & 70 yards then sight in on them working out there size in the recticle, you can do this on slopes & inclines as this can be a very different shot with trajectory, but with time you will look at your quarry & know at a glance by size & backdrop it's distance. foxon.

I call it Sods Law, think all Hunters suffer this one normaly when out for a walk around the farm with Wife & Kids I see about 50 Jackdaw Magpie Jay Pigeon Rabbit & then I see a Fox, that's it Kids walk over Dad's got to get the gun. foxon.

Here is a test card I done this morning useing my trusty Daystate LR90 with H&Ns HP @ 40 yards 5 shots placed moderate wind in open level farm land, shooting point of aim to centre of target, drop is due to set for 35 yards, all 5 shots placed within thumb nail, please note I did wait for gaps in wind that was in front of my target to drop. foxon.

A good quality springer like the Cometa Fenix Carbine c/w silencer or the Brocock Independent with srew cut barrel & silencer, both have full power, can be picked up new or second hand for under £240 new or £130 S/H. foxon.

I have a bipod on my Ruag 57 side lever, this is a very heavy carbine, kicks like a muel but still holds target out to 35yards, same on my full bore 50 BMG now I would not shoot this without bipod. foxon. Thought I better add you are quite right they do play funny games with the forward inersia of piston & spring & then at the end of comprresion stroke, don't want to be kicked off. foxon.

Scuba do you like apple sauce with your Boar. foxon. Yes I do .... or red cabbage and potato dumplings. But then I am a Kraut. We used to get paid for shooting them during the maize and corn harvest time as they could destroy a field in double quick time. We got 25 Marks for a tail and got to keep the pigs... happy days Did the German Governmet pay for the Cull or was this the Farm owners, sounds as if you had problems with Wild Boar like France still has.

No your not stupid it's normaly the action of breaking the barrel on a springer that would defeat the object of haveing a bipod directly in the cocking arms way, right smack on the forend, unless you have a side lever or some under levers. foxon.

If you don't mind the dark you could go out & Lamp them, normaly works even though the grass is wet & there not feeding as they should, but we can't help the bad weather. foxon.

If you have numbers of them where you are I would shoot them, they are a real pest, they trash egg farms & chicks, I have even seen a Mink remove a High Line full grown Chicken from it's run, they are very strong & return like a Fox if there is good feeding to be had, but sadly now the fur trade is no longer the Mink farms have all but gone, so the tree huggers have no more Mink to release for us Hunters to shoot, hope they release some more Boar it tastes better. foxon.
