Thanks. Sorry I think I misunderstood your original post. I looked at the scheme on the website and there were no spaces on it if I was reading correctly. I will have another look today as I would like to take part. PM now sent.

Cheers. Hoping something will come up. Not for the want of trying.

No joy with this yet. Won't keep bumping it but if anyone missed it at the time - I am still available. Cheers. TD

I will certainly have a look. I've no problem with grafting.

When I looked I couldn't tell. Bought a Hungarian.

I have one on my .243. I love it. I was a bit dubious about fixed power as I prefer variable but having used it a bit I'm so glad I have it. As said already there are some excellent bargains to be had second hand.

After a query about my original post this is what I am about: I am pretty new to deer stalking and have an FAC conditioned for deer. I can't afford to pay for stalking all the time and I am looking around for some locally to me but we all know that is hard to find. Instead of waiting until I find land (think positive) to learn about it I want to learn more now so I am more confident and competent when I find my own stalking. I recognise that guys who have been stalking for decades have a lot of knowledge to give and if someone is willing to do that I'll happily do the donkey work. The idea

I need to learn some more about deer so I am offering my services free of charge. If there is anyone who is a bit immobile or needs help for whatever reason with stalking (carrying/dragging, gralloching etc) and is willing to impart some knowledge to me I will happily help out. I am in St Albans area but can travel. I am often about during the week if it helps. I am not looking to shoot but I would like to learn more about stalking hence the offer.

Little used Webley Xocet. I used it a couple of times while I was between PCP rifles. The chap who owned it before me used it very little before storing it under his bed for ages! There is an L-shaped mark on the right hand side of the stock but is unblemished apart from that (see photos). I don't need this any more. Would be good for any springer fans or people starting with an air rifle. Face to face only.

Drunk in charge of a firearm?

I wasn't aware that we had established that the publican is not a SGC holder? -

It depends on how the officer views your actions. The "drunk" part of this offence is the officers opinion. This will be decided by your demeanour, ability to balance, talk without slurring, how strong your breath smells (of drink) and if your eyes are glazed amongst any other characteristics the officer may think is relevant. As this is a subjective test I would prefer not to risk it. As stated above - just lock it up at home then take a trip to the boozer. It has the added bonus of you being able to drink as much as you want to. -

Sub 12 air rifle is low powered. It's that or shotgun as those above have said.

I would put it in air gun ant. Not been in trouble for 9 years. Only trouble was as a juvenile. Now in employment etc should demonstrate a change in attitude. To the OP - do you really think a refusal due to a firearms offence 3/4 years ago is unreasonable?
-
It's not on the vehicle it's on the person details
-
I think it is more likely that there is a record of the refusal on PNC. Not showing you are a holder but that you have had it refused.
-
I have asked for mine to be opened as well. I have HMR and LR slots filled and an open one for FAC Air. Haven't done a massive amount of shooting in the 7 months I have had FAC but you can but try. My main problem is sorting out land checks - they take forever.

What has my coming from Berkshire have to do with it? Still haven't noticed anything to back it up. Like I said - pretty low. Almost as low as coming in for a mouthful from some other bloke who has a rather unreasonable aversion to Berkshire, based it could seem on my current county of residence. If I told you I was born and bred in Wiltshire does that deem me worthy of an answer/less abuse? Clan? Don't make me laugh. I know Berkshire isn't the biggest county but it's not a family village either. It's not a question in the traditional sense of the word though is it? If it was there wou

You gonna put your money where your mouth is then? Accusing someone without backing it up is pretty low.
-
Get one that fits well and feels comfortable. For that money you can get a second hand Miroku/Browning. Beretta if you look hard. Would be a better buy but it all depends on how it fits you. I've not had mine long but I knew when I picked it up that I would be buying it. Try a few (fire them if possible) and one will stand out.
-
I very nearly bought that a short time ago. Nice catch mate.

As already explained by JonathanL this is because the general public and most police officers do not know what they are looking at. Nor would you expect them to. It can be difficult enough to have someone distinguish between rifle and shotgun. The scope normally gives it away. Stress often leads to hyperbole. Therefore not really surprising that the descriptions sound dramatic.
-
Perhaps you could PM me that trick of not losing a suspect/offender. would come in awful useful and I'd be the only copper in the UK to know it. Or you could keep quiet about something you clearly know nothing about. What would you have unarmed officers do in the face of this situation?
-
Couldn't find them either. Very strange.

My FEO wanted me to have a mentoring condition for .22LR, .17HMR and FAC Air. Managed to demonstrate some experience with rifles already so don't have the condition. If you have previous experience then might be worth asking them if they will accept this and remove the condition or as stated above - get onto a shooting organisation and get their advice and help
