    he is, unfortunately a dog ive got here out of him didnt throw the way i hoped (more towards the bull in his dam) but he not to bad, just not as good an allrounder as his sire, but i have plans to outcross to a 1st cross collie grey in the future in an attempt to dull the bull traits

    Cheers bird, He is lakeland x russell I don`t know the exact breading to be honest ,my bro in laws lines go back years. The dog is a good all rounder, I should have bred a replacement for him by now . I have only ever put him to one bitch for someone and I did`nt want a pup at the time . Thanks mate !

    yeah mate had him from a pup 6 weeks old, my brother in law bred him out of his lines. He is about 8 in the pic and he is 11 now and looks just the same and still very handy. Thanks for the comment mate !

    Just off out for a mooch with my anti blood 1st cross collie grey, my accident prone 3/4 collie grey and Houdini my problem white lakeland....had 2 valium and a few bows so should be fine !!

    Do the farmers ever whinge about the rabbit population ?

    I used to agree about hunting out of season but these days there are young rabbits about most of the year. If you have farms with just a few rabbits then obviously you leave them alone in the summer but if you have farms that are crawling with rabbits and farmers phoning you to thin them down then you have to oblige if you want to keep your permission, otherwise leave it to Myxie or poachers either way you wont see the same numbers in the winter months. We were out last week on a high rabbit populated farm watching young rabbits wandering around with Myxie. I think in the near future that

    I use rope or an old dogs lead with the metal clip cut off .....does the trick !

    The RSPCA are not always interested in animal welfare but they will take the credit for people who are. I know this from experience !!!

    There were a lot of young about the place in January this year !!

    I would keep him back for a few months then take him out with an experienced dog and just let him watch over and over again for a few outings, it`s hard not to slip him but it will pay off if you persevere...also get him checked for injury as they will sometimes carry injuries without showing any pain. At least your asking for advice with this... good luck mate !!
